The vivo T4R 5G is the larger-screen phone and the cheaper one on vivo’s India store. The vivo X300 FE is the more compact phone, with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, a telephoto rear camera and faster listed charging. On the India store listings checked on 7 October 2026, the X300 FE 12GB+256GB was displayed at ₹89,999 and the T4R 12GB+256GB at ₹26,999, a gap of ₹63,000 on matching storage. Those prices are volatile offer displays, and the specifications are manufacturer claims, so neither tells you real-world speed, camera quality or battery life.

The T4R’s screen is 0.46 inches larger on the diagonal. The X300 FE is the more compact phone at 150.83 × 71.76mm, and it is also lighter in weight terms only by a small margin in the other direction: the T4R weighs 183.5g and the X300 FE 191g. The X300 FE’s listed resolution of 2640 × 1216 is sharper than the T4R’s 2392 × 1080. Working from those listed numbers, the X300 FE comes to roughly 461 pixels per inch and the T4R to roughly 388, so the X300 FE is denser on paper even though its screen is smaller.

The brightness figures are not directly comparable. The T4R’s 1800-nit local peak and 1300-nit HBM value and the X300 FE’s 5000-nit local peak are each vivo’s own measurements under conditions it does not fully specify on the product pages. Treat them as marketing numbers until an independent test measures the same thing on both phones.
Processor, memory and storage
The X300 FE is listed on Qualcomm’s flagship-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 on a 3nm process, while the T4R uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400 5G on 4nm. These are different tiers from different chipmakers, so a gap in speed is expected, but the size of that gap is not established by spec sheets. No benchmark, sustained-performance or gaming test was run for this comparison.

The memory and storage standards show the same pattern. LPDDR5X Ultra and UFS 4.1 on the X300 FE are newer generations than LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2 on the T4R. Newer standards generally mean higher theoretical bandwidth, but app launch times, multitasking and file transfers depend on the software and the workload as well.
Cameras and the telephoto option
The T4R has a 50MP Sony main camera with optical image stabilisation and a 2MP bokeh camera. The X300 FE adds a 50MP telephoto camera with optical stabilisation and an 8MP wide-angle camera. Megapixels do not decide image quality, but the focal-length range is a real hardware difference: the X300 FE gives you a dedicated telephoto lens, and the T4R does not. The front cameras are 32MP on the T4R and 50MP with autofocus on the X300 FE.

vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2
vivo’s X300 FE product page lists the vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 as compatible with the phone. It is sold separately and is not in the box. This review did not verify its price or stock, so check the vivo store before budgeting for it.
Battery and charging
The X300 FE has the larger battery: 6500mAh typical, with a 6350mAh rated minimum, against the T4R’s 5700mAh. Its charging is also quicker on paper, with 90W wired and 40W wireless FlashCharge, versus 44W wired on the T4R, which does not list wireless charging. Capacity and charging ratings do not tell you how long either phone lasts or how fast it charges in practice, since screen use, software and temperature all matter. A typical rating is an average and a rated minimum is the floor vivo guarantees, so the X300 FE’s battery will not always be 6500mAh in use.

Protection, software and build
Both India product pages list IP68 and IP69 ratings. Those ratings describe dust and water resistance under test conditions; they are not a promise that the phone will survive every accident, and they do not change warranty terms. On software, the T4R page lists Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15, and the X300 FE page lists Android 16 with OriginOS 6. Check the current update policy for the model you buy, because product pages do not state how long each phone will receive new versions.

The fairest price gap is on matching storage. The T4R 12GB+256GB and X300 FE 12GB+256GB are displayed at ₹26,999 and ₹89,999, a difference of ₹63,000. Subtracting the T4R 8GB+128GB price from the X300 FE 12GB+256GB price gives ₹66,500, but that pairs different memory and storage tiers, so it overstates the gap and should not be quoted as one. The X300 FE 8GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB configurations are listed on the specifications page, but no store price for them was captured in this check.
The ₹89,999 X300 FE figure is a sale price on one listing and may not last. The ₹119,999 reference price is shown by the store and is not a launch price.
Which one to choose
- Choose the T4R if you want the bigger screen, the lower displayed price and a 5700mAh battery with IP68 and IP69 ratings, and you do not need a telephoto lens.
- Choose the X300 FE if you want a compact phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 platform, a telephoto camera, a larger battery and 90W wired charging, and you can afford the much higher price.
Before you buy either phone, check the following:
- The current checkout price for the same RAM and storage tier, since offers change.
- Whether the sale or discount you are relying on is still running.
- Whether you need the telephoto lens or the larger screen, since those are the main hardware differences.
- Whether the configuration you want is in stock in your market, because the specifications page and the store page do not list the same options.
No independent benchmark, battery-life test or camera test was run for this comparison, so none of the performance or quality claims above should be read as measured results.
