Neither phone is the clear winner on paper. The vivo T4 Ultra lists the higher-tier MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chip, a 3x periscope camera and 90W charging. The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro offers a larger, faster-refreshing 6.83-inch display, an aluminium unibody and a 3.5x optical periscope. The price gap cannot be stated as a single figure yet, because the two published prices are for different RAM and storage configurations and from different dates. All specifications below are the India-market versions as published by each manufacturer, and they are claims rather than independent test results.

The table uses each manufacturer’s India product page. Where a page did not state a value, the cell says so.

Processor: a tier difference, not a verdict on speed
The Dimensity 9300+ is a higher-tier chip than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in the published line-up, and that is the main reason vivo positions the T4 Ultra as the performance-focused option. A chip tier tells you what the hardware was designed for, but it does not measure sustained gaming frame rates, thermal throttling or app launch times. No independent benchmark comparing these two phones was located, so treat the difference as a specification-level expectation until reviewers test them side by side.

Cameras: optical reach and what the zoom numbers mean
Both phones have a periscope telephoto lens, which is the most useful point of comparison. vivo lists a 3x optical periscope; Nothing lists 3.5x optical zoom. The gap is half a step of optical reach, not a difference in kind.

The bigger number on Nothing’s page is the claimed 140x ultra zoom. Only the optical range is hardware; anything beyond it is digital processing, and the quality of that image depends on software and light. Optical and high-magnification digital zoom are not equivalent, so use the 3.5x figure when judging telephoto detail and treat 140x as a marketing ceiling. Neither manufacturer’s camera claim has been confirmed by a controlled sample test in the sources used here.
The main sensors are both 50MP Sony units, but the models differ: the vivo lists an IMX921 main and an IMX882 periscope, while Nothing identifies its main as a Sony sensor with OIS without naming the model. Sensor model alone does not determine image quality.
Display: larger and faster on Nothing’s page
The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro has the bigger screen at 6.83 inches against 6.67 inches, and its adaptive refresh rate reaches 144Hz against the vivo’s 120Hz. The vivo has a 1600-nit high-brightness mode rating, while Nothing advertises peak brightness up to 5,000 nits. These brightness figures are manufacturer measurements under each company’s own test conditions and are not directly comparable. Outdoor visibility should be judged in person or in an independent review.

The vivo has the larger battery on paper, rated at 5500mAh typical, and it also charges faster at 90W. The Nothing India battery is listed at 5,400mAh with 50W charging. The gap between the two battery ratings is small. The charging difference is larger, but a higher wattage shortens charging time only if the phone holds that rate for the full session, which the published specifications do not show. Endurance and charging times should be checked against measured results.

Build, software and durability
Nothing’s listing is the stronger build statement: an aluminium unibody and an IP65 rating, which covers dust and water jets. vivo lists IP64 with a glass back, which resists dust and splashes. Neither rating is a full waterproof certification.
On software, vivo publishes Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15. Nothing’s product page names Nothing OS and Essential AI tools but does not state the Android version or how long it will receive updates. If update commitment matters to you, check Nothing’s own support pages before buying.
Price difference: why no single figure is reliable
The two prices cannot be set against each other yet. They come from different configurations, different sources and different dates, and the Nothing figures are secondary reports rather than official listings.

The vivo India Store listing showed ₹37,999 for the 12GB+256GB Phoenix Gold configuration when it was checked in 2026 (vivo India Store listing). Store prices change, so treat this as a snapshot, not a current quote.

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro
Nothing’s official India product page lets you choose configurations but did not show a price in the material reviewed. Two press reports cover the same model in different periods:
- Android Central reported an initial price of ₹39,999 for the 8GB+128GB model at launch in March 2026 (Android Central launch report).
- 91mobiles reported a price increase to ₹49,999 for the same 8GB+128GB configuration in June 2026 (91mobiles price increase report).
Neither report is a current official price, and as of October 2026 both may be out of date.
How to get a like-for-like price gap
- Pick one RAM and storage tier. The vivo figure is for 12GB+256GB, so look for the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro in 12GB+256GB.
- Check both live listings on the same retailer, or on the official stores on the same day, and note the date of each price.
- Compare the final price after any bank or launch offers, and include delivery and tax.
Until you have both prices for the same tier, the most accurate statement is that the vivo’s listed price for 12GB+256GB was ₹37,999 when checked, and that Nothing’s current price for that tier is not established by the sources available here.

Which phone fits which buyer
Choose the vivo T4 Ultra if you want the higher-tier chip, the faster 90W charging, a larger battery and a 3x periscope, and you accept a smaller 120Hz display and a glass back with IP64 rating.

Choose the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro if you want the larger 144Hz screen, a metal build with the higher IP65 rating, and a 3.5x optical periscope, and you are willing to confirm the Android version and update period on Nothing’s support pages.
If your decision depends on price, do not decide on the headline numbers alone. Use the same-tier comparison above.
