The Vissles LP85 is a compact, low-profile keyboard for Mac users who want Apple-style layout cues with optical switches, audible clicks, and RGB lighting. It supports both USB-C and Bluetooth, but it is not a drop-in replacement for every Apple Magic Keyboard: the LP85 has no numeric keypad, a fixed typing angle, and a different Fn-key position. Its switches and keycaps are not replaceable, according to Vissles.
What the Vissles LP85 is—and who it suits
The LP85 is an 85-key, 75% low-profile keyboard with an aluminum chassis, optical switches, and RGB backlighting. Vissles presents it as a Magic Keyboard-style alternative, though its clickier, more mechanical feel makes it a different typing experience. It is a better fit for someone who wants a compact Mac-compatible board with lighting and tactile feedback than for someone seeking an exact Apple keyboard substitute.
Vissles lists a 1.2 lb weight and a thinnest section of 0.31 inches. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. The layout omits a numeric keypad, so choose an Apple keyboard configuration with that tradeoff in mind.

The weight figures illustrate why the LP85 may feel less convenient to carry than a slim Apple board: Hardwick’s 2021 units put the LP85 at more than twice the weight of the Magic Keyboard he used. That is a reviewer’s comparison, not a standardized test across all Apple models.

Typing feel, key placement, and reviewer experience
Vissles specifies 1.2 mm actuation and 2.5 mm total travel for the LP85’s X-optical switches. Those are manufacturer figures, not independent measurements. A 9to5Toys review by Jordan Druber, published November 23, 2021, also reported a 50 g actuation force and described a clicky sound. Druber said he made more typing errors than on his familiar Drop ALT; that is one person’s experience, not evidence of a general accuracy problem.
AppleToolBox’s Myrick found the LP85 louder than Apple’s Magic Keyboard, though quieter than a conventional mechanical keyboard in his experience. He also noted a learning curve around the Fn key: it sits on the left where an Apple-layout typist may expect Option. If you rely on that key position for shortcuts, account for the adjustment period.

Hardwick’s MacRumors review, published November 9, 2021, described tactile feedback and an occasional missed keystroke on his review unit. He traced the problem to Bluetooth interference from a wireless TeckNet mouse; removing the mouse resolved it. This is a reported setup-specific incident, not proof of a widespread fault.

Mac compatibility, connections, and useful shortcuts
Vissles says the LP85 supports Mac, Windows, Android, and iOS, and offers a choice of Mac or Windows layout. It can connect by USB-C or Bluetooth, with up to three Bluetooth devices paired according to the manufacturer. These compatibility claims come from Vissles; the independent reviews cited here are historical and do not establish compatibility with every later operating-system version.

Pair over Bluetooth
- Switch the keyboard to Bluetooth mode.
- Hold Fn+P for five seconds to enter pairing mode. The P key should flash white.
- Select the LP85 in the device’s Bluetooth settings to complete pairing.
Switch operating-system mode and control lighting
- Fn+A and Fn+S switch between the Mac/iOS and Windows modes, according to the product FAQ.
- Fn+Del cycles dynamic lighting effects.
- Fn+Right Arrow cycles monochrome lighting modes.
- Fn+Up and Fn+Down adjust brightness.
Battery life and backlighting
Vissles lists a 2,000 mAh lithium-polymer battery and estimates up to six days of Bluetooth use without backlighting, or up to 3.5 days with RGB enabled. These are manufacturer estimates; actual runtime varies with lighting, connection, and usage. The LP85 has 19 dynamic and 8 monochrome lighting modes on the current product page, so RGB is a prominent feature rather than a subtle status light.
Can you replace the LP85 keycaps or switches?
No. Vissles says the LP85’s keycaps and switches cannot be replaced. It also warns that unauthorized removal or modification may damage parts or affect warranty coverage. Do not assume standard low-profile keycap sets or replacement switches will fit; compatibility is not established by the cited sources.

Vissles’ catalog lists a dedicated LP85 carrying case made of PU leather. The catalog entry establishes that the accessory is listed, but not that it is currently in stock or available through any particular third-party seller.

Is the Vissles LP85 in stock, and what does it cost?
Availability and price are unclear from Vissles’ own pages. When accessed October 7, 2026, the product page showed a price and shipping within 7–10 days, while the catalog labeled the keyboard pre-order and sold out. Those signals conflict, and both can change; check the live product page and confirm the exact model, layout, price, and stock status before ordering.

Older reviews mention launch-era pricing, including MacRumors’ $99 figure, but those 2021–2022 prices should not be treated as current. The manufacturer pages provide the more recent signals, though they do not resolve the inventory conflict.
Should you buy the Vissles LP85?
Consider the LP85 if you want a compact keyboard that works with Mac and other listed platforms, offers wired and Bluetooth connections, and adds clicky optical switches and customizable RGB lighting. Skip it if you need a numeric keypad, an adjustable typing angle, quiet keys, replaceable switches or keycaps, or a layout that keeps Apple’s familiar Fn/Option muscle memory intact. Because its current stock status is inconsistent across Vissles pages, verify availability before making a purchase decision.
