To view or change settings for one website in Chrome on Android, open that site, tap the site information control to the left of the address bar, then tap Permissions. To change defaults that apply across sites, open More (the three-dot menu) > Settings > Site settings. Google’s Android help documents these paths without tying them to a particular Chrome or Android version, so labels or available options may vary by device.
View or change permissions for one website
- Open Chrome on your Android phone or tablet and visit the website.
- Tap the site information control to the left of the address bar.
- Tap Permissions.
- Tap a permission to choose a setting, or tap Reset permissions to remove that site’s individual settings.
Google notes that a setting for a particular site takes precedence over the default. In other words, changing a site’s permission here does not change the setting for every website. Google Chrome Help: Change site settings permissions – Android.
Change Chrome’s defaults for sites
- In Chrome, tap More (the three-dot menu), then Settings.
- Under Advanced, tap Site settings.
- Choose a permission or site behavior to review or change.
Depending on the Android device and Chrome interface, Site settings can include options for location, camera and microphone, motion sensors, notifications, JavaScript, pop-ups and redirects, intrusive ads, background sync, automatic downloads, protected content, sound, data stored, NFC, USB, clipboard, virtual reality, augmented reality, third-party sign-in, desktop site, on-device site data and local network access. Google’s documentation describes these controls but does not establish that every option appears on every device.

Cookies and site data for the open site
To inspect or delete data associated with the website you are visiting, open the site’s information view and choose Cookies and site data. Cookies can keep you signed in or remember preferences; deleting them may sign you out and remove saved preferences. See Google Chrome Help: Delete, allow and manage cookies in Chrome – Android.

On-device site data
To manage whether sites save information locally, go to More > Settings > Site settings > On-device site data. This is a separate control from deleting a site’s cookies. Locally saved information can support site functions; Google gives keeping a shopping cart active as an example. See Google Chrome Help: Learn about on-device site data in Chrome – Android.
Third-party cookies
For the general third-party cookie setting, go to More > Settings > Site settings > Third-party cookies. Site exceptions may also apply. Some websites may not work as expected when third-party cookies are blocked, according to Google’s cookie guidance.

Manage notifications and pop-ups
Notifications
Change the general notifications setting at More > Settings > Site settings > Notifications. For an individual website, open its site information view and tap Permissions. Chrome may remove notification permission from sites you have not visited for a while and alert you when it does. Details: Google Chrome Help: Use notifications to get alerts – Android.
Pop-ups and redirects
To change the general control, go to More > Settings > Site settings > Pop-ups and redirects. Chrome blocks pop-ups by default; when it blocks one, Google also documents a site-specific option to allow it. See Google Chrome Help: Block or allow pop-ups in Chrome – Android.
