Victoria Beckham’s fashion label did not become a luxury business simply because its founder was famous. Beckham says investors pushed the company to change both its business strategy and creative direction; later results show growth across fashion and beauty and, in 2025, a reported operating profit. That marks a significant shift, though one profitable year does not establish that profits will continue.

How did Victoria Beckham move beyond her celebrity identity?

Beckham has described the challenge as overcoming the public’s association of her fashion work with her earlier fame. In an Associated Press interview in 2025, she contrasted four years in the Spice Girls with nearly two decades in fashion, saying she had been “so defined” by that earlier period. She also said she felt the brand had reached a point where discussing her past would no longer damage it. Associated Press interview

That account helps explain the repositioning: the company had to be judged as a fashion business, rather than treated as a celebrity extension. But changing perception was only part of the work. Beckham said investors advised the company to “re-strategize not just the business side of things but the creative things as well.” She recalled making substantial changes to fix the business and said she wanted to save it. This is Beckham’s account of the process, not an independent audit of the restructuring.

What changed in the business?

The reported reset joined commercial decisions to the product identity. An earlier account of the company’s 2023 results described sales growth of 50% and narrowing losses. Then-CEO Marie Leblanc characterized the year as progress after a successful repositioning, with an ambition to establish Victoria Beckham as a global luxury house. Business of Fashion

That history gives context to the later results, but it does not show an effortless or uninterrupted rise. The clearest evidence of the shift is the combination of a more established fashion offer, growth across sales channels, beauty expansion and a move from operating loss to operating profit in the latest reported annual results.

What do the latest reported financial results show?

Vogue reported that Victoria Beckham Holdings generated £129.8 million in revenue in 2025, 15% more than the £112.7 million reported for 2024. The group recorded £7.3 million in operating profit, compared with a £1.6 million operating loss in 2024. Vogue described 2025 as the first profit since the business launched in 2008. These are group-level figures, not proof that every brand, product category or subsidiary was profitable. Vogue’s 2025 results report

Vogue also reported £12.1 million in 2025 EBITDA, up from £2.2 million in 2024. EBITDA and operating profit are different measures: EBITDA excludes interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, while operating profit reflects operating expenses including depreciation and amortization. The two figures should not be treated as interchangeable or added together.

Which parts of fashion and beauty drove growth?

Fashion: dresses, gowns and ready-to-wear

Vogue reported that dresses and gowns accounted for 32% of the retail business in 2025 and were a leading area of fashion growth. Ready-to-wear remained a strong category. The report also said both direct-to-consumer and wholesale sales grew, without providing comparable figures for either channel. It named the Katherine jacket, Alina trouser, Isabella gown and Bela dress among signature styles. Vogue’s 2025 results report

Growth in both channels matters because it shows the business was not relying on only one route to customers. The available reporting does not establish how much each channel contributed to revenue or profit, however, so it cannot show which was more important financially.

Beauty: a second growth engine

Victoria Beckham Beauty provided another source of momentum. CEO Lauren Edelman said Foundation Drops, described as infused with skincare actives, more than doubled category sales and pointed to room for further skincare growth. That is an executive account of product performance, not independently audited product-level sales data. Vogue’s report does not provide a comparable breakdown of fashion and beauty profitability. What remains uncertain about the turnaround?

  • Profit durability: 2025 was a notable operating-profit milestone, but one year of profit does not establish that the result will persist.
  • Segment economics: The reported group results and selected category figures do not reveal a complete income statement for fashion and beauty separately.
  • Channel contribution: Direct-to-consumer and wholesale both grew, but the available coverage does not quantify their respective shares or margins.
  • Expansion plans: Vogue reported double-digit sales growth in the first half of 2026 based on a company statement and a planned New York store on Mercer Street for September 2026. Those are company-reported developments and a plan, not independently verified realized sales or confirmation that the store opened.

Vogue also reported that NEO Investment Partners held a 30% stake. Its founder, David Belhassen, who is chairman of Victoria Beckham, described the business as entering a phase of disciplined global expansion. The stake and expansion ambition provide context for the company’s next phase, but they do not guarantee future performance. Vogue’s 2025 results report

Why the luxury-business label now fits better

The evidence for a transformation is more substantial than celebrity repositioning alone: Beckham describes investor-guided changes to both strategy and creative direction; reporting identifies growth in recognizable fashion categories and in beauty; and the group moved from an operating loss in 2024 to operating profit in 2025. Together, those developments support the view that Victoria Beckham has built a more mature luxury business. They do not settle the longer-term question of whether the company can sustain profitable growth.
