The Veise VE027-H is worth considering if you want to replace both a front-door deadbolt and its handleset, and you want fingerprint entry plus remote control without a separate Wi-Fi hub. Its strongest selling point is the bundle: a fingerprint smart deadbolt and matching handleset. It is a less convincing fit for Apple Home or Matter households, or for buyers who prioritize a higher residential security grade.
What the VE027-H includes and how it works
Veise sells the VE027-H as a Wi-Fi fingerprint deadbolt with a matching solid-aluminum handleset, in matte black or satin nickel. That makes the package most relevant when you need the handle as well as the lock; a deadbolt-only comparison may not reflect the total cost of upgrading the door.
Veise lists fingerprint, touchscreen PIN, key fob, physical key, app control, Alexa and Google voice control, and code sharing as access options. The lock uses the KK Home app for iOS and Android and built-in 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, which Veise says means no separate hub or monthly subscription is required. It supports more than 20 fingerprints and more than 100 PIN codes, anti-peep PIN entry, and an adjustable auto-lock delay of 10 to 180 seconds, according to the manufacturer’s product page.

Check your door dimensions before ordering
Veise specifies a door thickness of 1-3/8 to 2 inches, a backset of 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inches, and a lock hole diameter of 1-1/2 or 2-1/8 inches. For the matching handle, the distance from the lock-hole center to the handle-hole center must be at least 2-15/16 inches. Confirm each measurement against your door and the installation manual before purchase.

The manufacturer says installation uses a screwdriver and takes 15 minutes. That is a manufacturer estimate, not a guarantee for every door. In his review, Popular Mechanics writer Brandon Russell said the deadbolt fit his existing cutout without drilling, but his experience does not establish that every door will need no modification. If your existing holes, backset, or door thickness do not match the listed dimensions, do not assume the set will fit as-is.
How it performed in an independent review
Russell reported using the VE027-H as his main lock for a couple of weeks. He tried fingerprint, PIN, app control, physical key, and both included key fobs, as well as remote locking and code creation. During that short test, he found the fingerprint reader fast and rarely misread, and said app access made it easy to check the lock or create a code remotely. He also tested it during Arizona heat and monsoon weather; that brief exposure is not a long-term durability assessment.

Russell described setup as quick on his door and found the fobs convenient. He prefers physical raised buttons to a touchscreen, which is an interface preference rather than a performance fault. His review is useful firsthand evidence, but a couple of weeks cannot establish years of reliability.
Trade-offs to weigh
No Apple Home Key or Matter
Popular Mechanics reports that the VE027-H does not support Apple Home Key or Matter. Veise lists Alexa and Google Assistant support, with control through KK Home. If your smart-home setup depends on Apple Home integration or Matter, check for those features explicitly before choosing this lock.

Grade 3 certification and no door-position sensor
The product page lists BHMA/ANSI Grade 3 certification; Russell characterizes Grade 3 as the lowest of three residential tiers. Buyers who prioritize a higher grade or expect heavy traffic should compare certification levels rather than treating this model as suitable for every security need.
Russell also notes there is no door-position sensor. The app may report whether the bolt is locked, but that does not confirm the door itself is physically closed.

Touchscreen rather than raised keypad buttons
The PIN pad is a touchscreen. If you prefer to locate keys by touch or use raised buttons, the reviewer’s preference is a relevant usability consideration; the package does include fingerprint, fob, and physical-key alternatives.
Brand track record remains a question
Russell notes that Veise is less familiar than established smart-lock brands and that his short review could not verify long-term durability. The available review supports an assessment of short-term operation, not a conclusion about reliability over years.

Power, backup access, and manufacturer claims
Veise specifies eight AA/LR6 alkaline batteries, which are not included, and a Type-C emergency power port for temporary power. The manufacturer says local access methods remain available without Wi-Fi or internet, and that physical keys and the emergency port provide backup if battery power is an issue. These are manufacturer statements, not independently verified findings in the review. Add the required batteries to your setup plan; no particular brand is specified.
Veise also lists local AES-128 encrypted storage with no cloud storage for lock data, an IP65 rating, an operating range of -31°F to 150°F (-35°C to 65°C), and two years of warranty coverage: one included year plus one free year after registration. The manufacturer lists lifetime technical support as well. Treat these as product-page claims, not independent certification or verification of privacy, weather performance, or warranty service.
Price and who should buy it
On October 4, 2026, Veise’s product page listed the VE027-H at $199.99. Popular Mechanics reported an Amazon deal price of $133 when its review was published on September 8, 2026. Those are dated price snapshots, not a promise of today’s price or availability; check the current listing, seller, and finish before buying.

The bundle has a clear value case when you need both a deadbolt and a matching handleset and want several ways to enter, including fingerprints and remote app control. Compare the total cost of the lock and handle you actually need, rather than comparing only the headline price of a deadbolt-only alternative. If you already have a suitable handleset, require Apple Home Key or Matter, or want a higher residential security grade, the VE027-H is a less natural match.
