All four VCT China teams—TYLOO, Xi Lai Gaming (XLG), EDward Gaming (EDG) and JD Gaming (JDG)—were eliminated in the group stage of VALORANT Champions Shanghai 2026 and shared the tournament’s 13th–16th placement band. They each lost their opening series, then fell in their group’s elimination match; the opening defeats alone did not eliminate them.
How the four Chinese teams finished
The event results place all four teams in a shared 13th–16th band. “Finished last” therefore describes a tie among the four teams at the bottom of the standings, not a separate ordering of TYLOO, XLG, EDG and JDG.
| VCT China team | Opening series | Group elimination series | Final result |
|---|---|---|---|
| TYLOO | Lost 0–2 to G2 Esports | Lost 1–2 to Team Liquid | Eliminated; tied 13th–16th |
| Xi Lai Gaming (XLG) | Lost 0–2 to Karmine Corp | Lost 0–2 to Nongshim RedForce | Eliminated; tied 13th–16th |
| EDward Gaming (EDG) | Lost 0–2 to LOUD | Lost 0–2 to Global Esports | Eliminated; tied 13th–16th |
| JD Gaming (JDG) | Lost 0–2 to FUT Esports | Lost 1–2 to T1 | Eliminated; tied 13th–16th |
The pairings and outcomes are reported by Insider Gaming’s October 2 results report and the THESPIKE.GG event results listing.
Were they eliminated after their opening losses?
No. Champions used four double-elimination groups, each with four teams, and group matches were best-of-three. An opening loss sent a team to its group’s elimination match; a second loss ended its tournament. TYLOO, XLG, EDG and JDG all reached that elimination match, but none won it. The event’s THESPIKE.GG overview lists the format and completed results.

How the map totals changed
The figures from September 28 and October 2 describe different points in the tournament, not conflicting final totals. In its September 28 snapshot, PEL Sports reported that the four teams were collectively 0–8 in maps and had won 42 rounds across those eight opening maps. They were still alive in the double-elimination groups at that point.
After the elimination matches, Insider Gaming reported on October 2 that the Chinese representatives had won two maps across eight best-of-three series, for a combined 2–16 map record. That final tally includes the elimination series as well as the opening ones.

VALORANT Champions Shanghai was scheduled for September 24–October 18, 2026, with 16 teams competing. The Chinese teams’ exits were reported on October 1–2, before the tournament’s scheduled conclusion. Their shared bottom placement was already determined by those group-stage eliminations; the remaining event did not change their tie in the 13th–16th band.
