What GST irregularity was alleged?
The newspaper reported that officials alleged Eden used input tax credit (ITC) claimed on construction-related purchases to offset GST liability on flat sales, rather than paying that liability in cash. Deputy Commissioner Suresh Kumar told the newspaper the company was not legally permitted to use ITC for the liability in question. How the reported investigation proceeded
The Times of India said the department’s Special Investigation Branch inspected the premises over Thursday and Friday. Kumar told the newspaper that investigators gathered documents and information from RERA, the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority, the district magistrate’s office, the mining section and other departments, and seized company business records.
Kumar also said that directors, legal advisers and other representatives present during the investigation admitted to an error in tax payment, based on GST portal data and documents collected during the inspection. This admission is reported through the newspaper’s account of Kumar’s statement; it is not independently reviewed company testimony.

What Eden does
The report describes Eden as a private real estate and wellness company operating an assisted-living facility for senior citizens in Purkul, with studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.
What is—and is not—confirmed
The Uttarakhand State Tax Department describes State Tax/GST as a state revenue-collection function under the Finance Department and notes that GST came into force on July 1, 2017. That general background does not confirm the details of the Eden case. The reported assessment, recovery, ITC treatment, inspection and admission remain attributed to The Times of India and its named official source. The available material does not establish the company’s payment status after the report or provide a case-specific official order.

A separate GST Council record concerns M/s Antara Purukul Senior Living Limited and an advance ruling dated November 12, 2021, about electricity charges recovered from residents and asset replacement deposits. It is a different entity and a different matter, and does not substantiate the Eden report.
