To use a Spectrum remote with a Samsung Smart TV, first identify the remote model inside its battery cover, then follow Spectrum’s instructions for that exact model. Spectrum remotes use different programming methods, so there is no single Samsung code or button sequence that works for every remote.
If you want the reverse—using the Samsung remote to control your Spectrum cable box—set that up separately through the TV’s Universal Remote feature.
How do I find the model number on my Spectrum remote?
Open the battery cover and look inside for the model number. Spectrum lists instructions for multiple remote families, including the Spectrum Guide remote, CLIKR-5 models, URC models, Atlas OCAP, Philips RC122, and others. Match the number printed on your remote to the corresponding instructions on Spectrum’s remote-programming support page.

- Identify the remote. Read the model number inside the battery cover.
- Open Spectrum’s instructions for that model. The page provides different methods for different remotes. Depending on the model, programming may use direct code entry, code search, quick setup, or a manual method.
- Follow the matching procedure and test the controls. Check whether the remote can operate the TV functions you need, such as power and volume. If the on-screen or button instructions do not match your remote, confirm the model number and select its instructions again.

What is the Samsung code for a Spectrum remote?
There is not one universal Samsung code for all Spectrum remotes. The correct method depends on the Spectrum remote model, and the available instructions may use code entry or code search. Check the instructions for the model printed inside your battery cover rather than trying a code intended for a different remote.
Can I use my Samsung remote to control my Spectrum cable box?

- Enter your ZIP code and select Spectrum as the provider.
- Select the HDMI port used by the cable box.
- Follow the on-screen test for channel controls and complete setup if it works.
Refer to Samsung’s cable-box setup instructions if the labels or steps differ. The procedure and availability can vary by TV model, set-top box, and whether the box connects directly to the TV or through a home theater system.

Why don’t the setup steps match my equipment?
- Spectrum remote instructions do not match: Recheck the model number inside the battery cover and use the matching Spectrum instructions.
- You want the Samsung remote to operate the cable box: Use the Samsung Universal Remote setup rather than Spectrum’s TV programming steps.
- Samsung menus or tests differ: Menu names and Universal Remote availability vary by TV model; the connection path and set-top-box type can also affect setup.
