Miami-headquartered Evolution Metals & Technologies Corp. (EM&T) has signed a letter of intent with Florida-based VIVIFY Technology to supply behind-the-meter hydrogen power for planned rare-earth magnet and critical-materials operations. The announcement describes a proposed arrangement—not an installed power system or an operating 10,000-ton-per-year magnet plant.
What EM&T and VIVIFY have proposed
According to Interesting Engineering’s October 2, 2026 report, the companies signed a letter of intent (LOI) covering hydrogen power for EM&T’s planned industrial operations. The power would be supplied behind the meter: on-site or dedicated generation serving the facility rather than electricity purchased solely through the grid.
The report places the proposal within EM&T’s plans to develop a U.S. industrial campus for rare-earth magnets and critical materials. It does not identify the LOI’s detailed terms, a project site, whether the arrangement is binding, or a deployment schedule. An LOI alone does not establish that a final commercial agreement or installation has been completed.

EM&T is reported to be scaling magnet production capacity toward approximately 10,000 tons annually. That number describes a target, not verified output or operating capacity. The report does not establish that the company has reached that scale, or specify when it expects to do so.

The figure also needs to be kept separate from another U.S. magnet project with a similar capacity headline. Niron Magnetics is developing rare-earth-free iron-nitride magnets; it is a different company and technology from EM&T’s rare-earth magnet plans. MPR News reported in August 2026 that Niron was conducting a nationwide site search, while Niron CEO Jonathan Rowntree’s November 2025 congressional testimony described a proposed 10,000-ton-per-year facility. Those plans are not evidence about EM&T.

Interesting Engineering attributes the system specifications and performance claims below to VIVIFY; the report does not independently verify them.

These claims should not be read as proof of a fully emissions-free system or as evidence of a particular facility’s reliability, cost, or ability to meet EM&T’s power needs. The announcement does not provide those project-specific figures.

What remains unconfirmed
The report establishes an announced LOI and a proposed power approach. It does not establish that VIVIFY equipment has been installed, that EM&T’s magnet operations are running at the stated scale, or that the companies have committed to a timetable. Confirmation of a definitive agreement, a named installation site, and an announced commissioning plan would clarify whether the proposal has advanced toward deployment.
