Uravu Labs says its Clausius platform can use low-grade heat from data-center operations to extract moisture from ambient air, returning chilled water to a cooling loop and producing distilled water. The idea combines cooling and atmospheric water harvesting, but the company’s output and efficiency figures remain vendor claims; the sources cited here do not independently verify a commercial data-center deployment or a completed hyperscaler pilot.
How the system is intended to work
The platform does not make water from heat alone. It is designed to draw water vapor from ambient air, while waste heat helps separate that moisture from a liquid desiccant so it can be collected.
- Absorb moisture: Air passes through an absorber containing a proprietary liquid-salt solution. The solution captures water vapor from the air.
- Regenerate the solution: Heat is applied to the moisture-rich solution, releasing water vapor. Uravu says the process can use waste heat at 35–60°C from servers, chillers, or industrial processes. Uravu Labs
- Collect water and return cooling water: The released vapor is condensed into water described by Uravu as distilled. The platform is also intended to return chilled facility water to a cooling loop. Data Center Dynamics reports that a vacuum pump lowers pressure in the desorber to help water evaporate at lower temperatures; it quotes a claimed cooling-water return temperature of 27–32°C. Data Center Dynamics, April 21, 2026
In practical terms, the facility’s heat is an input to the regeneration step, while the air supplies the moisture. How much water the process can collect depends in part on the ambient conditions: Data Center Dynamics says Uravu’s reported output varies with humidity and other environmental conditions.

#1 Best Overall
- ✅ [Revolution] - Game-changing revolution in drinking water industry! Brings you the purest water by extracting moisture from the air and purifying the water with built-in air and water filtration system. No plumbing or piped water is needed. Just plug into a power outlet! No installation is needed.
- ✅ [Purifying] - With built-in air and water filtration system such as PAC treatment, Ultrafiltration, carbon block filter system, and UVC-LED sterilization system, etc., it produces drinking water that tastes fresh, pure, and soft.
- ✅ [Production Volume] - The produced water volume depends on the level of humidity in the air and the ambient temperature. Work best in areas with relative humidity levels ABOVE 40% and environmental temperature ABOVE 59°F (15°C). The maximum production volume is 2.64 Gallon (10L) each day (with the temperature of 86°F and humidity of 80%).
- ✅ [Healthy] - Free from contaminants like heavy metal, pesticides, and other impurities found in ground or surface water. Say goodbye to chlorine and chemicals from urban water supply system. The water tank is made of Food-grade PP (Polypropylene). Say goodbye to plastic bottles and reduce your carbon footprint. Help reduce the humidity level in the room.
- ✅ [Easy and Convenient] - Can also be connected to solar pannels (paired with a power station or battery bank), makes it a perfect water source for homes, RVs, trailers, boats, off-grid or emergencies during natural disasters.
| Claim | What it means and how to read it | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 30,000 liters per megawatt per day | Uravu’s current product page gives this maximum water-output rate. Data Center Dynamics reports the company described the potential surplus as up to 30 cubic meters per day per megawatt, varying with ambient conditions and humidity; it also quotes the CEO’s lower-end estimate of 5 cubic meters per day per megawatt. | Uravu Labs; Data Center Dynamics, April 21, 2026 |
| 35–60°C waste heat | Uravu says the system can use heat in this temperature range to regenerate its desiccant. The sources cited here do not provide an independently measured operating range for a deployed data-center installation. | Uravu Labs |
| PUE of 1.05–1.1 and “negative WUE” | These are Uravu’s product-page claims. The sources cited here do not provide independently audited measurements or define a site-specific energy and water balance supporting them. | Uravu Labs |
Those headline rates do not by themselves show how a particular facility would perform. Operators would need site-specific figures for water output across local temperature and humidity conditions, as well as the system’s net energy use and effect on cooling performance.
How far along is the data-center system?
Data Center Dynamics reported on April 21, 2026, that Uravu had developed a 125 kW unit and was targeting a 1 MW modular block. It also reported that the company had agreed terms for an unnamed hyperscaler pilot expected to begin in Q2 2026, and was in discussions with five other digital-infrastructure firms. The report did not establish whether that pilot subsequently began, so those details should be read as a dated account of development plans, not confirmation of a completed deployment. The same report said Uravu supplied water-from-air systems to 40 hospitality clients and described a Bangalore laboratory machine with a stated capacity of 5 cubic meters per day. That is context about the company’s separate hospitality activity; it does not demonstrate that its data-center system has been commercially deployed at that scale.
The sources cited here do not include a third-party field test, an independently audited energy-and-water balance, or confirmation of the hyperscaler pilot’s outcome. Until those details are available, the output, efficiency, and water-positive claims should be treated as company-reported rather than established performance.

How it differs from other water-from-air proposals
Other companies are also promoting atmospheric water systems for data centers, but the available descriptions are not comparative test results. Their stated approaches differ:
| Company | Described approach | Evidence qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Uravu Labs | A liquid-salt desiccant absorbs moisture and is regenerated with low-grade heat; the company describes the platform as supplying cooling-loop water and producing distilled water. | Company product claims and trade reporting; no independently comparable performance results in the sources cited here. Uravu Labs |
| AirJoule | The company describes a sorbent-based system with atmospheric water-capture chambers and a patented thermal-pressure swing regeneration process. It says the system can capture water vapor at relative humidity as low as 20%. | These are AirJoule’s own product claims, not comparative test results. AirJoule |
| Water From Air | The company describes sorbent materials regenerated at low temperatures and ambient pressure, with waste heat releasing moisture as distilled water. It says the approach is designed for arid conditions. | These are the vendor’s own claims, not comparative test results. Water From Air |
A useful comparison would need the same kind of evidence for each system: water output at specified temperature and humidity, net energy use and cooling performance, water-quality and treatment requirements, integration needs for existing air- or liquid-cooling infrastructure, and deployment maturity with independent measurement. The available sources do not establish enough comparable data to rank these systems.

What a data-center operator would need to verify
Before treating water-from-air as a source of facility water, an operator would need to assess the whole installation rather than rely on a per-megawatt headline figure. The central questions are:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Local conditions: What output is measured at the site’s actual temperature and humidity, including relevant seasonal variation?
- Net energy and cooling: What energy does the complete system consume, and how does integrating it affect cooling performance?
- Water quality: What quality does the collected water meet, and what treatment is needed for its intended use?
- Integration: What changes are required to connect the system to the facility’s heat source and air- or liquid-cooling infrastructure?
- Operational evidence: Are output, energy, water quality, and cooling results measured during a live deployment and independently checked?
Until those results are available for a specific installation, Uravu’s proposal is best understood as a potentially useful combination of heat reuse, cooling, and atmospheric water capture—not a demonstrated water supply or a verified efficiency gain for data centers.
