The UNIZ IBEE is a consumer LCD-SLA resin printer with a manufacturer-listed build volume of 192 × 120 × 220 mm and print speed of up to 80 mm/hr. Those figures describe published specifications, not independently measured performance. UNIZ also documents a workflow built around its UNIZ Maker software and zMUD resin, while its guidance on third-party materials and slicers dates to January 2021. Current price, availability, warranty, and independent test results are not established here, so buyers should verify those details before deciding whether the IBEE is worth buying.
What is the UNIZ IBEE?
The IBEE is a consumer resin printer that uses LCD stereolithography (LCD-SLA). UNIZ says it has a fourth-generation light engine and a monochrome 4K LCD. The product page also promotes high light uniformity and a minimum feature size of 0.2 mm; these are manufacturer claims, not independently verified results.
Its stated build volume is 192 × 120 × 220 mm (7.5 × 4.7 × 8.7 inches). That is the maximum stated working envelope, not a guarantee that every model fitting those dimensions can be printed successfully; supports, orientation, and the printer’s workflow also matter.

These are published values on UNIZ’s IBEE product page and in its IBEE manual. The speed figure is explicitly “up to” 80 mm/hr, so it should not be read as the expected rate for every job. Actual print time depends on the model, selected layer thickness, resin, and workflow. Likewise, the ±10 μm accuracy figure carries the manual’s pixel-multiple condition and is not an independent measurement.

What resin does the IBEE use?
UNIZ presents zMUD as a consumer-level resin formulated for the IBEE. The manufacturer describes it as balancing rigidity and toughness economically and producing a smooth, matte finish. Those descriptions are not independent material test results.
Can it print with third-party resin?
UNIZ’s creator FAQ, last updated January 5, 2021, said third-party resins can be used but are not recommended; users are responsible for testing the required parameters. That is dated guidance, not confirmation of current support or warranty policy. Check current UNIZ documentation for resin compatibility and handling requirements before using another formulation. Software and file compatibility
UNIZ lists UNIZ Maker as the IBEE software. Its product page describes one-click printing, model orientation and support generation, printer management, built-in model repair, and support for large files. Listed input formats are STL, OBJ, AMF, 3MF, and SLC.

The January 2021 Kickstarter FAQ said third-party slicers were unsupported at that time. Because that statement is historical, do not assume it describes present policy: check UNIZ’s current software and support documentation before planning a third-party slicer workflow.

UNIZ’s IBEE support index includes setup, interface, status, usage, and maintenance resources, a quick-start guide, and videos covering mainboard, screen, and touchscreen replacement; Z-axis calibration and build-platform leveling; LCD testing; and exposure cleaning. This establishes that maintenance documentation exists, but it does not establish that replacement parts are in stock, what repairs cost, or what warranty terms apply.

The January 2021 Kickstarter FAQ said owners could request a quote for a spare screen. That historical statement does not confirm present availability or price. Before buying, ask UNIZ or a regional seller about warranty coverage, service access, and the availability and cost of consumable or replacement parts such as screens and tank film.
Is the UNIZ IBEE worth buying?
The published specifications make the IBEE worth investigating if you need its stated build volume and are comfortable verifying a resin-printer workflow centered on UNIZ’s ecosystem. But the available evidence does not establish its real-world accuracy, detail, speed, reliability, current selling price, stock status, warranty, or comparative value against printers available today. There is no basis here for calling it a proven bargain or ranking it against current competitors.
Before purchase, verify these decision points:
- Availability and total cost: confirm current price, stock, shipping, and resin cost with a seller serving your region.
- Support terms: get current warranty, repair, and replacement-part information in writing; the support library alone does not establish service availability.
- Materials and software: confirm supported resins, slicers, software downloads, and compatibility with your computer and preferred workflow.
- Performance evidence: seek current independent tests for print time, dimensional accuracy, fine detail, and repeatability if those determine your purchase.
- Like-for-like comparison: compare build volume, demonstrated detail, measured print time, material flexibility, software support, and replacement-part cost using comparable models and resin where possible.
The Kickstarter campaign record reports 545 backers and $274,727 pledged against a $50,000 goal in 2021. Those are historical campaign totals, not evidence of current sales, stock, or ongoing product support.
