The UNISOC SC9863A is an entry-level LTE smartphone platform with eight Arm Cortex-A55 CPU cores and PowerVR GE8322 graphics. PassMark’s PerformanceTest V10 database lists an average CPU Mark of 1,439 multi-thread and 486 single-thread, based on 392 submitted results as of October 6, 2026. Those figures characterize the database entry, not every phone built around the chip: handset memory, storage, software, cooling, display and battery all affect real-world results.
UNISOC SC9863A specifications
UNISOC’s product page describes the SC9863A as an octa-core smartphone platform. Its listed maximum CPU frequency is 1.6 GHz, and its PowerVR GE8322 GPU is listed at up to 550 MHz. The specification page gives the process entry as “28nm HPC+/22nm” without explaining the paired notation, so it should not be reduced to a single definitive node. UNISOC SC9863A specifications.

Notebookcheck describes the CPU as two clusters of A55 cores, with one cluster reaching 1.6 GHz and an efficiency cluster reaching 1.2 GHz, and identifies the graphics as IMG8322/GE8322. That is secondary technical context; UNISOC’s product page remains the source for the manufacturer’s published parameters. Notebookcheck’s SC9863A summary.

Camera and video capabilities
UNISOC lists support for four HD cameras and a maximum ISP configuration of 16M+5M, with capture at 30 fps. Its listed video capabilities include 1080p at 30 fps decode for H.265, H.264, H.263, VP8, VP9 and MP4, and encode for H.265, H.264 and VP8. These describe platform support, not a promise about a particular phone’s camera count, camera resolution or recording modes.

What the SC9863A benchmark numbers show
PassMark Software’s PerformanceTest V10 CPU page reports 1,439 multi-thread CPU Mark and 486 single-thread CPU Mark for the Unisoc SC9863a entry. The figures are based on 392 submitted results as of October 6, 2026; PassMark describes the margin for error as low. This is a changing database aggregate, not a controlled test of every device with the chip. PassMark’s Unisoc SC9863a CPU Mark page.
The same PerformanceTest V10 page lists averages of 13,414 MOps/sec for integer math, 2,693 MOps/sec for floating-point math, 4 million primes per second, 1,087 MB/sec for data encryption, 30,585 KB/sec for data compression and 94 frames per second for physics. These are specialized suite subtests from submitted results, not direct measures of app launch speed, gaming quality or battery life.

How to use the score
- Use the CPU Mark figures as a broad indication of the submitted SC9863A results in that specific test suite and version.
- Do not treat the aggregate as a guaranteed score for a particular phone. The database entry does not establish that handset’s memory, storage, thermal behavior, software or test conditions.
- Do not compare these CPU Mark figures directly with AnTuTu, Geekbench, 3DMark or GPU scores. Those suites measure different workloads and may use different devices, versions and conditions.
- For an alternative-chip comparison, prefer scores from the same suite and version on named devices tested under documented conditions. Without that match, compare published capabilities rather than claiming a direct speed ranking.
Is the SC9863A good for gaming?
The specifications establish that the chip has integrated PowerVR GE8322 graphics, but the cited sources do not provide a matched, independently replicated gaming test for a named SC9863A phone. The CPU Mark result is not a gaming benchmark and cannot establish frame rates or which games will run well. A phone’s specific memory, display resolution, cooling and software implementation also matter. For a purchase decision, look for tests of the exact handset and game rather than inferring gameplay quality from the chip name alone.
What UNISOC’s performance claims mean
UNISOC says: “Compared to the Arm Cortex-A53, the Octa-core 1.6gGHz Arm Cortex-A55 processor architecture improves the performance by 20% and the AI processing power by 6 times.” These are manufacturer comparisons; the cited product page does not provide a benchmark method, workload, test setup or independent validation for the percentages. They should not be read as guaranteed gains for a specific phone or app. UNISOC’s product page and claims.

Why two SC9863A phones can perform differently
The chip specifications describe platform capability, not the complete phone. UNISOC lists alternatives for memory type and a maximum display resolution, while phone makers determine the implemented memory and storage configuration, display, software and other device components. Camera setup and supported network bands likewise depend on the handset’s implementation. The sources do not establish the configuration or performance of any particular SC9863A phone.
UNISOC’s page lists LTE Category 7 and several cellular standards, but that does not establish which bands a specific handset supports or whether it will work on a particular carrier. Check the exact phone’s specifications for its bands and regional variant before relying on the platform-level list.

Bottom line: read the chip score as a starting point
The SC9863A’s published specification is an eight-core Cortex-A55 LTE platform with PowerVR GE8322 graphics, LPDDR3 or LPDDR4/4X memory support and eMMC 5.1 storage. PassMark’s dated PerformanceTest V10 aggregate is 1,439 multi-thread and 486 single-thread CPU Mark from 392 samples. Those details help identify the chip’s general class, but they do not predict a particular phone’s responsiveness, gaming, battery endurance or camera quality. For those questions, the exact handset’s configuration and device-specific tests matter more.
