Uniqkey announced a €5.35 million funding round on August 29, 2024, led by Swedish venture capital firm BackingMinds. The Danish cybersecurity company said it would use the investment to expand across Europe, develop its business password and access-management platform, and keep pace with security standards.
How much did Uniqkey raise, and who invested?
The August 2024 round raised €5.35 million. BackingMinds led the investment, with angel investors also participating. Tech.eu named Jesper Zerlang, Lars Ankjer, Otto Krabbe, Rolf Bladt, other angels, and key employees among the participants; SecurityWeek reported the round and the total funding figure.
After the round, Uniqkey’s total raised was reported as €15.35 million. That figure and the other business metrics below were reported in 2024 coverage, rather than independently audited figures.
What does Uniqkey do?
Uniqkey is a Danish software company founded in 2018. Its business password and access-management platform is aimed particularly at small and medium-sized organizations. The service encrypts credentials and uses a mobile application to help employees log in to work accounts.

Reported capabilities include credential autofill, continuous authentication, multi-factor authentication, secure password sharing, access controls, grouping logins, and administrative visibility into employee services and accounts. The product combines employee login assistance with centralized management, rather than serving only as a personal password vault.
How does Uniqkey protect business logins?
Uniqkey’s reported workflow centers on encrypted credentials and mobile-assisted authentication. Employees can use the mobile app to assist with logins, while features such as autofill and multi-factor authentication support access to business services. Administrators can manage access and share credentials securely, and can see employee services and accounts through administrative visibility features.

These descriptions establish the broad feature set, but the cited funding coverage does not specify technical implementation details such as encryption algorithms, supported identity providers, deployment steps, or independent security-test results. Organizations evaluating the service should confirm those details directly with Uniqkey against their own requirements.
What was Uniqkey’s growth plan?
The company said it would use the funding to scale across Europe, improve the product, support continued growth, and keep pace with safety standards. Uniqkey’s positioning emphasizes European-built security and keeping sensitive data under European jurisdiction; its About Us page describes its founding in 2018 and its focus on password and access management.
Tech.eu reported that Uniqkey had more than 500 SME customers across Europe and that CEO Hakan Yagci said the company had grown 100% year over year for the preceding two years. The funding indicates that Uniqkey planned to invest in European growth and product development; it does not by itself establish a particular feature release, compliance certification, or service availability in a new market. For a purchasing decision, businesses should assess the login experience, MFA and credential handling, administrator controls, data-residency terms, regulatory needs, and total cost of ownership. The 2024 funding reports do not provide a like-for-like pricing or performance comparison with other business password managers.
