“Bookmarked here for unread messages” is most likely a label tied to unread messages in a conversation, not a web page you saved in Samsung Internet. Samsung’s own documentation does not define this exact phrase, so the explanation below rests on user reports and one secondary guide rather than an official Samsung description.
What the phrase most likely means
The wording points to a message-thread indicator. Users who have reported it on Samsung phones describe seeing it alongside a conversation that still has unread messages. A Reddit discussion from October 29, 2019 raised the question directly, and the replies were anecdotal and speculative rather than based on instructions from Samsung. A 2023 troubleshooting article from KrispiTech treats the label as an unread-message marker and discusses why it can persist. That article is secondary guidance, not manufacturer confirmation.
Treat the unread-message reading as the most plausible explanation, not a documented feature.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesWhy “bookmark” is misleading here
In Samsung Internet, a bookmark is a saved web-page address. The Samsung Electronics manual content hosted at device.report covers two separate things: sending and receiving SMS and MMS in Messages, and saving web pages as bookmarks in Samsung Internet. It does not explain the “Bookmarked here” label. The separation between these two features is the reason to look at the messaging conversation first rather than your browser bookmarks. Note that device.report is a third-party host of the manual, not Samsung’s own support site.

What to check if the marker appears
- Open the Messages app and go to the conversation where the label appears.
- Read the unread messages in that thread. Open the conversation fully and scroll through it so any unread items are displayed.
- Go back to the conversation list and see whether the marker is still shown for that thread.
- If it remains, note your Galaxy model, Android version, and the messaging app you are using before looking for model-specific help.
The sources reviewed do not establish that reading every message will always clear the marker, so a remaining indicator is not by itself proof of a fault.
What not to do
A Reddit commenter suggested disabling “Bookmark Provider.” That suggestion is unverified, and the sources do not show that it addresses this label. Disabling a system component can affect other features, so do not use it as a general fix.

- Please note, this device does not support E-SIM; This 4G model is compatible with all GSM networks worldwide outside of the U.S. In the US, ONLY compatible with T-Mobile and their MVNO's (Metro and Standup). It will NOT work with other CDMA carriers, and it is also not compatible with their MVNO (Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, etc).

What is not established
- Current behavior across models: Not established. The available reports do not show whether the label behaves the same on every current Galaxy phone or Android release.
- An official fix: Not established. No Samsung documentation for this exact phrase was found.
- Statistics or quotations from Samsung: None found for this label.
If the marker persists after you have checked the conversation, your device’s model and software version are the details that matter most, and current support from Samsung for your specific model is the most reliable next step.
