UltaHost advertises a dedicated hosting page for ARK: Survival Ascended (ASA), but the details a buyer needs most could not be confirmed: the current ASA monthly price, the RAM and CPU included in a plan, and any independent record of uptime or support. This review therefore assesses what UltaHost advertises for game servers and what can and cannot be verified about its ASA offering. It does not establish that UltaHost is dependable for ASA. That question stays open until the points in the checklist below are answered in writing.
What UltaHost advertises for game servers
UltaHost’s general game-hosting page lists a set of features. These are provider claims made for game hosting in general. They should not be assumed to apply to every ASA plan until UltaHost confirms them for that plan:
- One-click mod installation
- DDoS protection
- Automated backups
- Full file access
- Global relocation of a server
- 24/7 gaming support
The same page says UltaHost operates 30+ data centers across several regions and uses high-clock-speed processors and NVMe drives. Those are statements about the provider’s infrastructure, not measurements. Nothing on the page reports latency, packet loss or uptime figures. The page also says “Our support team plays the games that we host.” That is a first-party marketing claim. It is not evidence of ASA-specific expertise or of how quickly support responds.
What the $16 listing does and does not tell you
UltaHost’s general game list shows ARK: Survival Evolved at $16.00 per month. That price belongs to Evolved, a different game and a different server product. It is not a price for ASA and should not be used as one.

The ASA page appears in search results, and its snippet says setup is preconfigured and refers to a monthly cost. When the page was checked, it could not be opened, and no ASA price was visible. The provider’s own FAQ asks the question directly in Ukrainian-language search results: “Яка місячна вартість ARK: Survival Ascended Hosting Server?” (“What is the monthly cost of ARK: Survival Ascended Hosting Server?”). No answer to that question could be read in the text that was available.
To get the number, open the ASA plan from UltaHost’s site and go as far as the order configurator without creating an account where possible. Record the monthly price, any setup fee, the first-term discount, and the renewal price. A first-month promotion can make a host look cheaper than it will be over a year, so compare the renewal price.

Mods, clusters and maps
UltaHost’s one-click mod installation is listed on its general game-hosting page. The evidence does not show whether that feature covers ASA mods, how mod updates are applied, or whether a rollback is possible if an update breaks a server. Multi-map cluster support for ASA is also not confirmed in any UltaHost material that could be checked.

Reliability: what can and cannot be established
No independent source verifies UltaHost’s ASA uptime, latency, in-game performance or support outcomes. The review was not based on a test server or on direct customer experience. Star ratings or review scores shown on UltaHost’s own site are not independent evidence and do not describe ASA specifically.
Four items would move this assessment from unverified to supported:
- A published uptime history or status page covering ASA servers, with the measurement period stated
- Written support response times for game-server tickets, not general hosting tickets
- A backup policy that states how often backups run, how many are kept, and how a restore is requested
- A written refund and cancellation policy that says whether it applies to game-server plans
Self-hosting as the alternative
If you want full control over the server, the ARK Official Community Wiki has dedicated-server setup and configuration material, and its setup documentation refers to SteamCMD for downloading server files. Self-hosting shifts the work to you. It is not established here that it is easier, cheaper or more reliable than a managed host.

- Prepare a machine you control with enough RAM, CPU and upload bandwidth for the map and player count you plan to run. The wiki’s setup pages describe configuration; check them for the current requirements before you buy hardware.
- Install SteamCMD on that machine, following the wiki’s setup instructions.
- Use SteamCMD to download the ASA dedicated server files, as the wiki documents.
- Configure the server using the wiki’s configuration material, including the settings that control player slots and admin access.
- Open the server’s network ports on your router and firewall so players can connect, and test a connection from outside your network.
- Set up your own backup schedule. Nothing in the self-hosting path provides backups, DDoS filtering or 24/7 support unless you arrange them.
How the options compare
The table compares what each option states publicly. “Not stated” means the source did not provide the detail. Competitor claims come from Survival Hosting’s ASA page and have not been independently checked.

Before you buy: a checklist
- The current ASA monthly price, the renewal price, and any setup fee, taken from the ASA plan itself
- RAM, CPU and the maximum player slots on the plan you would buy
- Whether mods and clusters are included on that plan, and how updates are applied
- The backup frequency, retention period and restore process
- Supported platforms and any crossplay limits
- The refund and cancellation terms as they apply to game-server orders
- An uptime record or status history for ASA servers
Verdict: dependability is not yet established
UltaHost’s advertised feature set matches what most managed game hosts offer. Mod installation, backups, DDoS protection and support are the right things to look for. But for ASA, the evidence stops at the feature list. The price, plan specifications, cluster support and reliability record could not be verified. Treat UltaHost as a possible option to evaluate, not as a proven one. If the checklist items come back with clear written answers and the numbers fit your budget and player count, the next step is a short trial period or a monthly plan before committing to a longer renewal. If they do not, self-hosting or a competitor with published ASA specifications is the more defensible choice.
Also, the title’s word “dependable” describes a claim to be tested, not a finding of this review.
