The UGREEN NASync DXP4800 GT is a four-bay, diskless NAS built around an AMD Ryzen Embedded R2514 processor and two 10GbE ports. Its strongest case is for creators, home-lab users, and small offices that can use fast networking across multiple clients; buyers with ordinary 1GbE networks are unlikely to get the main benefit. PCWorld’s September 22, 2026 review calls it a new design rather than a refresh of the standard DXP4800 and describes 10GbE as affordable, but drive costs and any network upgrades belong in the real purchase calculation.

What the DXP4800 GT includes—and what it does not

UGREEN lists four SATA drive bays, two M.2 NVMe slots, and dual 10GbE on the DXP4800 GT. The AMD Ryzen Embedded R2514 is specified as a 4-core, 8-thread processor. UGREEN also says bays 1 and 2 support U.2 SSDs, giving the system another storage option beyond SATA drives and M.2 cache or storage.

The NAS is sold diskless: the drives are not included. You will need to budget for compatible drives separately and check UGREEN’s drive compatibility list before buying. UGREEN advertises up to 144TB total capacity; that is a manufacturer-stated maximum configuration, not a promise of that much usable space after formatting or RAID redundancy.

For its review, PCWorld reports 8GB of DDR4 installed as standard, upgradeable to 64GB, with ECC support. TechRadar likewise describes its tested configuration as 8GB DDR4 single-channel and expandable to 64GB. Memory capacity matters if you plan to host multiple containers or virtual machines; the base 8GB is a modest starting point for heavier workloads.

RAID support adds data redundancy to help reduce the risk of data loss and improve file recovery in the event of drive failure.

Dual 10GbE is the reason to consider the GT

Two 10GbE ports can support link aggregation, and UGREEN describes link support up to 20Gbps. That figure should not be read as a guaranteed speed for one file transfer: actual throughput depends on the network configuration, workload, storage, and client devices. Link aggregation is most useful when the network and clients are set up to take advantage of multiple links.

With a single 1GbE client, a 1GbE switch, or drives that cannot keep up with the workload, the ports will not deliver the practical benefit their headline speed suggests. The investment makes more sense if you already have compatible 10GbE infrastructure or expect to add it, and if several active clients or large transfers create a real bandwidth need. PCWorld notes that the GT can have an advantage over the DXP4800 Plus with multiple active clients.

How it compares with the DXP4800 Plus and Pro

The GT is not just a faster-networking version of the standard DXP4800: it uses a different processor platform. Android Central identifies the Plus with an Intel Pentium Gold 8505, the Pro with an Intel Core i3-1315U, and the GT with the AMD Ryzen Embedded R2514. Those names alone do not establish which model is faster for a particular task; compare the workload you need to run, the network, memory, storage options, software requirements, and total cost with drives.

Android Central’s prices and discounts were reported at launch in June 2026, so they are not a reliable guide to current pricing. A fair comparison is the total cost of the NAS, the drives you need, and any switch or client adapters required to use 10GbE—not the bare enclosure price alone.

UGOS Pro, containers, and encryption

PCWorld reports that UGOS Pro supports Docker, virtual machines, and AI photo search, and judges the operating system smooth with a broad app selection. It also considers the Ryzen Embedded R2514 suitable for containers and a virtual machine without unreasonable power use. These are PCWorld’s review assessments, not independent performance measurements for this article.

One important tradeoff for security-conscious buyers is that PCWorld lists the lack of full-volume encryption as a con. That specific limitation does not establish that the NAS has no encryption of any kind; it means buyers who require full-volume encryption should verify whether the available protection meets their policy before storing sensitive data on it.

Who should buy the DXP4800 GT?

  • Consider it if you need a four-bay NAS for a home lab, creative workflow, or small office and have multiple clients or large transfers that can benefit from 10GbE.
  • Factor in upgrades if you expect to run several containers or virtual machines: the reported standard memory is 8GB, though PCWorld says it can be expanded to 64GB.
  • Look elsewhere or spend less if you have no plan to build out a faster network and your workloads are adequately served by slower Ethernet.
  • Check another model or your security requirements if full-volume encryption is mandatory.

PCWorld describes a metal chassis, magnetic dust filter, and quiet fan, useful practical details for a NAS placed in a work area. They do not change the central buying calculation: the GT’s appeal is its combination of Ryzen-based hardware and dual 10GbE, while the diskless purchase and network requirements add to the system’s real cost.
