Ubiquiti has announced a new UniFi Industrial family: a lineup of fanless DIN-rail switches and the U7 Industrial, an IP67-rated wireless access point. The switches’ model numbers and detailed specifications were not included in the October 8, 2026 announcement. The U7 Industrial’s adjustable “protective wings” are RF-isolator panels intended to shape coverage and reject neighboring signals; Ubiquiti has not published independent measurements of their effect.
What Ubiquiti announced
In its October 8, 2026 announcement, Ubiquiti introduced a purpose-built UniFi Industrial family for demanding installations. It comprises an unnamed-model family of industrial switches and the named U7 Industrial access point. Ubiquiti says the products are managed through UniFi alongside its networking, WiFi, camera, and door-access products.
What is known about the industrial switches
Ubiquiti describes these as fanless DIN-rail switches with rugged extruded-aluminum enclosures and diecast metal backs. The announcement also lists wide-temperature operation, configurations with optional PoE and 2.5 GbE support, dual DC power inputs, an integrated alarm relay for external power-supply monitoring, and mounting options from the left, right, or rear to suit cabinet layouts and cable routing.
The announcement does not identify switch model numbers or provide the details needed to compare particular units:
#1 Best Overall
- UPC: 817882028974
- Weight: 9. 300 lbs
- Port counts, port speeds, and uplink details
- Operating-temperature range
- PoE standards and power budget
- Pricing and release availability
Those specifications should be confirmed for each model before comparing it with another switch. The general features announced for the family do not establish what any individual model includes.
What the U7 Industrial offers
Ubiquiti describes the U7 Industrial as a WiFi access point with a diecast metal enclosure and IP67 environmental protection. Its out-of-box configuration uses a high-gain directional antenna. Included external omni antennas offer an alternative for 360-degree coverage, and Ubiquiti says the access point also supports custom third-party antennas.

- 8 PORT FULL GIGABIT POE SWITCH - Providing 8*10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet PoE ports and 2*1000Base-X SFP Ports. (Noted: Each PoE port can be used as an uplink port)
- 4 BT90W PORTS - The 1~4 ports complying with IEEE802.3af/at/bt POE++ standards, deliver up to 90W power per port, suitable for high-power POE devices, like POE monitor, POE lighting, PTZ camera, etc. The 5~8 ports support the IEEE802.3af/at POE+ standards, deliver up to 30W (PoE+) power per port. The total POE budget is 120W
- REDUNDANT POWER SUPPLY - Support 2 channel DC48-56V redundant power inputs. Supports 8-pin simultaneous power supply (1/2/4/5 positive, 3/6/7/8 negative) and POE Mode A/B output.
- 120W UL LISTED POWER ADAPTER - Default UL-certified 120W power adapter, optional Mean Well 240W Din rail Power Supply (ASIN: B015C9ITSS), the total PoE Budget of PoE Switch can be increased to 240W.
- GREAT COMPATIBILITY - Compliant with IEEE 802.3af/at/bt PoE Standards, works well with PoE / PoE+ / PoE++ / Non-PoE devices, like PTZ camera, IP cameras, PoE VoIP Phones, PoE Wireless APs, IoT devices, etc.
That gives installers two broad coverage approaches: use the directional setup when coverage needs to be focused, or use the included omni antennas when coverage in all directions is more appropriate. Site geometry, mounting position, cabling, neighboring RF sources, and the chosen antenna configuration all matter when planning a deployment.

What the “protective wings” do
The wings are adjustable panels on an included custom RF isolator, not protective casing around the AP. Ubiquiti says the isolator is designed to focus the signal and reject unwanted neighboring signals, especially in interference-prone settings such as a pole carrying multiple access points. Its suggested setup is to open the panels wider for broader coverage or angle them inward for enhanced range.
These are design claims from Ubiquiti, not independently verified performance results. The announcement provides no measurements for range, throughput, consistency, or interference reduction, so it is not possible to quantify how much the isolator changes coverage in a real installation.

What to check before choosing either product
For a U7 Industrial installation
- Whether the site calls for focused directional coverage or 360-degree omni coverage
- Environmental protection needs and the planned mounting location
- Nearby RF sources and whether the isolator’s adjustable panels suit the layout
- Antenna choice, cable routing, and compatibility of any third-party antenna
- Compatibility of outdoor accessories with the exact selected equipment
For an industrial switch
- Port count, port speeds, and uplink requirements
- PoE standard and budget for the model, if PoE is needed
- Published operating-temperature range
- DC input and redundancy requirements, including alarm monitoring
- Whether left-, right-, or rear-oriented mounting fits the cabinet and cable routes
Ubiquiti’s store search lists U7 Industrial as a product category, but price, stock, and regional availability were not verified. Check the live listing or a local distributor for current availability.
