For a fantasy lineup start, neither Tyrone Tracy Jr. nor Devin Singletary is an appealing choice based on the available October 4, 2026 snapshot. Ourlads’ September 8 depth chart places both behind Cam Skattebo and Najee Harris, while NFL.com’s displayed season stats show just 3 carries for Tracy and 9 for Singletary. If you are choosing a speculative bench stash between the two, Tracy has the stronger recent reception history—but that does not mean he currently leads the Giants’ backfield.
Start neither unless the role changes
The decision hinges on opportunity, not on which player has the better career résumé. Ourlads’ depth chart, updated September 8, 2026, lists Skattebo first, Harris second, Tracy third and Singletary fourth, and marks Singletary inactive. This is a dated independent depth-chart view, not an official Giants announcement; confirm the latest depth chart and weekly active list before setting a lineup.
NFL.com’s displayed 2026 totals, accessed October 4, show Tracy appearing in three games with 3 carries for 17 yards, no rushing touchdowns and 1 fumble lost. Singletary’s page shows two games, 9 carries for 25 yards and no rushing touchdowns. The published game counts differ, so they should not be used to infer either player’s weekly availability or calculate comparable per-game rates.

Choose Tracy for a speculative PPR bench stash
If your choice is strictly between these two for a bench spot, Tracy is the more plausible speculative hold in a format that rewards receptions. NFL.com lists 36 receptions for him in both 2024 and 2025. His 2025 line was 176 carries for 740 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns, plus 36 catches for 288 yards and 2 receiving touchdowns. In 2024 he had 192 carries for 839 yards and 5 rushing touchdowns, with 38 catches for 284 yards and 1 receiving touchdown.

Those seasons show a route to fantasy value if his receiving work or overall opportunity returns; they do not establish his current role. His small 2026 rushing total is the more relevant signal for an immediate start decision.
Singletary’s past touchdown production does not establish a current role
Singletary ran 119 times for 437 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2025. In 2024, he had 113 carries for 437 yards and 4 touchdowns, according to NFL.com. That history may matter as background, but it is not evidence that he currently owns goal-line work. The available figures do not include Singletary’s 2025 receiving totals, so they do not support a complete season-wide receiving comparison with Tracy.

Use current opportunity, format and roster purpose to decide
- Need a starter now: Look for a back with confirmed active status and a clearer share of carries, targets or goal-line work. The cited snapshot does not make either Giant a strong ordinary start.
- Choosing a bench stash: Tracy has the stronger recent reception case, especially in PPR formats. Treat it as upside contingent on a larger role, not a forecast that his role will grow.
- In a touchdown-heavy format: Do not elevate Singletary solely because he scored 5 rushing touchdowns in 2025. Past touchdowns do not prove current scoring opportunities.
- Making a weekly decision: Check the current injury report, active/inactive list, depth chart and recent usage. The cited Ourlads chart is dated, and the available figures do not provide full 2026 game-by-game snap shares, targets or fantasy points for both players.
Why preseason projections should not decide it
ESPN’s 2026 preseason projections assigned 36 carries to each player: 152 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown for Tracy, and 144 rushing yards and 1 touchdown for Singletary. Singletary’s projection also included 27 receptions. These are preseason estimates, not live rest-of-season forecasts; after the season began, they should not outweigh the dated depth chart and displayed 2026 statistics.
