Two people were reported injured in a Russian strike on Kyiv’s Pivnichnyi (Northern) Bridge on the morning of October 3, 2026. Traffic from the left bank toward the right bank was temporarily suspended, and several bus and trolleybus routes were disrupted. The available same-day reports do not establish when the bridge reopened.

How many people were injured?

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that two people were injured in the strike. One received medical assistance at the scene; the other was taken to hospital and was receiving outpatient treatment, according to Ukrainska Pravda and RBC-Ukraine. These are details attributed to the mayor, not independent on-site casualty verification.

Was traffic open on the bridge?

No: movement from Kyiv’s left bank toward the right bank was temporarily suspended after the strike, according to the immediate reports. They do not give a reopening time or establish the bridge’s later traffic status. The initial reports also do not provide a final engineering assessment, so they are not enough to determine structural safety.

What is known about the wider bridge-attack context?

The Kyiv Independent described the October 3 strike amid attacks on key Kyiv bridges over three consecutive days and reported a drone strike on the Southern Bridge on October 2. Hromadske reported that Pivdennyi (Southern) Bridge had been struck four times on October 1–2. These are accounts of reported incidents; they do not by themselves establish the intent behind the strikes.

The Kyiv Independent’s report noted that the full damage extent at Pivnichnyi Bridge was not immediately clear. The same-day coverage cited here does not provide a subsequent injury update, a final damage assessment, or confirmation of reopening.
