Tuskira announced on December 4, 2024, that it had raised $28.5 million to build an enterprise cybersecurity platform that brings data from existing security tools together to assess controls and help teams manage exposure. Intel Capital and SYN Ventures led the round, according to Tuskira and contemporaneous reporting by SecurityWeek.

What Tuskira says its security mesh does

Tuskira describes its product as an AI-powered unified threat defense platform. The idea is to aggregate information from security tools an organization already uses, then analyze vulnerabilities and security controls across code, cloud environments, applications, and infrastructure. The company says the platform connects data from more than 150 security tools; that is a company-published integration-scale claim, not an independently audited count.

In Tuskira’s launch announcement, “security mesh” refers to combining information from many tools to coordinate assessment and defense. The sources do not establish the phrase as a formal standard with one universal definition.

What “preemptive” defense means in this pitch

Tuskira framed the platform as a way to identify vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, coverage gaps, and other exposure before attackers exploit them. It also said the approach could speed remediation and make better use of existing security investments. Those are product claims made at launch, not independently demonstrated customer outcomes.

The launch announcement also claimed the platform could reduce response time from weeks to days. It did not describe a study, sample, or methodology for that figure, so it should not be treated as a general measured result.

Funding and investors

Tuskira announced $28.5 million in funding on December 4, 2024. It named Intel Capital and SYN Ventures as leaders of the round, with Sorenson Capital, Rain Capital, Wipro Ventures, and other industry participants among the investors. SecurityWeek’s report from the same day also described a $28.5 million round led by Intel Capital and listed the other named firms as participants.

The announcement identified co-founders Piyush Sharma (CEO), Om Moolchandani (CISO and CPO), and Vipul Parmar (CTO). Tuskira connected the founders’ prior work to Accurics and said Tenable acquired that company; that background is attributed here to Tuskira’s announcement.

What the announcement does—and does not—establish

The funding announcement and SecurityWeek’s contemporaneous coverage establish that the company announced the round and describe the product concept. They do not independently verify the platform’s efficacy, customer adoption, realized savings, or performance claims. The launch materials also do not provide comparative data against other security platforms.

For an enterprise evaluating the product, relevant questions include which integrations are supported and how deeply they are implemented; how control assessment and vulnerability analysis work; what actions are automated and where human approval is required; what deployment entails; and what independently evidenced customer outcomes and total costs are available. Those details are not established in the cited launch coverage.

For the original announcement and its stated capabilities, see Tuskira’s December 4, 2024 launch announcement. For contemporaneous coverage of the funding, see SecurityWeek’s report.
