To silence typing on a Samsung Galaxy using Samsung Keyboard, open Settings > Sounds and vibration > System sound, then switch off Samsung Keyboard. This silences keypress sounds without muting the phone’s other alerts.
Turn off Samsung Keyboard sound in Settings

Open Settings.

Tap Sounds and vibration.

Open the system sound controls. On Android 13 or later, tap System sound. On Android 12 or earlier, tap System sound and vibration control.

Switch off Samsung Keyboard.
Samsung lists these version-specific menu names in its keyboard sound instructions. The system sound screen also controls other interaction sounds, so change only the Samsung Keyboard switch if you want to keep other device sounds. Samsung explains that the system sound settings include keyboard and other interaction sounds in its Galaxy sounds and vibration guide.
Use Samsung Keyboard settings instead

Tap the keyboard’s Settings icon.

Tap Swipe, touch and feedback, then Touch feedback.

Turn off Sound.
If the Settings icon is missing, Samsung says it appears in the keyboard toolbar when that toolbar is enabled. Use the system Settings route above if you cannot access the icon. Labels and layouts can vary by device and software version; Samsung’s troubleshooting guidance notes that menu options may differ.

Keep vibration while silencing keypresses
Sound and vibration are separate feedback controls. Turning off the sound toggle silences typing while allowing keyboard vibration to remain on. If you also want to stop the tactile response, change the vibration or touch-feedback setting separately; do not assume switching off sound disables vibration.

Check which keyboard is active. These instructions apply to Samsung Keyboard; for another keyboard app, use that app’s own settings.

Avoid muting the entire phone unless you also want other audible alerts silenced. Sound mode and system sound controls are distinct settings.
