If your Immich server is already running and you can sign in, you can use a tablet as a photo display with ImmichFrame. The project documents Android and iOS apps, plus a browser-based PWA option for iPad. The documentation does not establish that every setup takes less than five minutes; that timing depends on what is already configured and should be treated as a personal result, not a general promise.
What you need before you start
This is a display setup, not an Immich server installation guide. Before opening ImmichFrame, make sure your Immich server is running and that the tablet can reach it over the network. Have a working Immich account or the access method configured for your library.
If you still need to install the server, Immich’s Quick start describes a Docker-based setup and lists minimum hardware of 6 GB RAM and 2 CPU cores. Server installation and configuration are separate work, so a five-minute estimate for the tablet does not include them.

Android
Use the Android app option documented on the ImmichFrame Apps page. Follow the current app instructions to connect it to your Immich server. The project documentation identifies an Android app, but does not establish compatibility for every tablet model or promise a particular setup time.

iPhone or iPad app
The same ImmichFrame documentation lists an iOS app. Its stated requirements are iOS 17 or later and, for iPad, the 6th generation or newer. Check the current project instructions and your device’s OS version before proceeding, because app availability and compatibility can change.
iPad PWA
For iPad, ImmichFrame also documents opening the project in a browser and adding it to the Home Screen: open the ImmichFrame page, tap Share, then choose Add to Homescreen. The project page documents this route; it does not establish identical behavior across every browser version or guarantee that browser controls will always be hidden.

Decide which photos the display can access
Choose the source deliberately rather than granting broader access than you intend. Immich supports shared albums and configurable public links. A public link can be given an expiration date and password protection, but it still changes how the selected content is accessed. Review the controls and access behavior for your ImmichFrame release and your Immich server before using a link to drive the display. Immich explains its sharing options in the Sharing documentation.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe ImmichFrame app documentation establishes the available app routes, but it does not establish the exact photo-selection controls for every release. Use the current app’s settings and Immich sharing controls rather than assuming that all versions select albums in the same way.

Position the tablet and check the display
Once the app or PWA is connected and showing the intended photos, place the tablet where you want the frame. A stand can help with viewing angle, but it is optional and not part of the software requirements.
Check the result on the actual tablet and browser or app you plan to use. Full-screen and browser-bar behavior is not established for every device combination, so do not assume that a browser-based display will hide every control automatically.
