TunesKit iPhone Data Recovery offers three documented routes: scanning an iOS device, an iTunes backup, or an iCloud backup. Its free version lets you scan and preview; you must pay to use the full recovery feature. The key decision is whether the exact files you need appear in the preview—and whether you have a usable device or backup to scan. TunesKit does not guarantee recovery, and no independent, reproducible recovery test was established for this review.
What TunesKit iPhone Data Recovery does
TunesKit says its software can look for supported data in three places: directly on an iOS device, in an iTunes backup, or in an iCloud backup. It also advertises previewing data before recovery. These are the vendor’s documented capabilities, not independently verified recovery results. TunesKit product page
The FAQ says recovered files are saved to a computer rather than restored directly to the iPhone. That can be useful if you want to inspect or keep files on a PC or Mac, but it is not the same as putting them back into their original apps or locations. TunesKit FAQ
What data and devices it lists as supported
TunesKit’s technical reference lists photos, videos, Messages and iMessages, contacts, notes, call history, Safari bookmarks and history, voice memos, calendar items, reminders, and messages, attachments, or media associated with apps including WhatsApp, Viber, Kik, Line, Snapchat, WeChat, and Skype. The product page markets “20+” data types; treat that as a vendor’s scope claim, not a measured result. TunesKit technical reference TunesKit product page

- The iRecovery Stick extracts messages, call history, contacts, web history, calendar appointments, photos, voice memos, email accounts, and map history directly from iPhone and iPad devices. Running entirely from the USB stick with no software installed on the device or computer, it leaves no trace that an extraction was performed.
- Uncover images concealed using photo-hiding apps and use the iSearch keyword function to search for specific words, names, phone numbers, or symbols across the entire device at once, eliminating the need to manually browse through individual apps and folders. Bookmark important findings and export content for reporting and analysis.
- The iRecovery Stick processes phone backup files stored on your Windows PC or copied from a Mac computer. If a device was backed up to a computer before items were deleted, those items may still be recoverable from the backup. Photos sent in text message conversations but deleted from the photo library may also be recovered if the conversation was not deleted.
- The iRecovery Stick requires physical access to the target device. The user must be able to disable the passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID before extraction begins. If the device was previously backed up to a computer using a password, that password will also be required to process the backup data.
- Use the iRecovery Stick on as many iPhone and iPad devices as needed with no per-device fees. Free lifetime updates ensure ongoing compatibility with future iOS versions, backed by 25+ years of data software expertise from Paraben Consumer Software.
The same reference lists Windows 11, 10, 8, and 7, and Mac OS X 10.8 or later, including macOS 14, 15, and 26. Its iOS list runs from iOS 7 through iOS 26 but omits iOS 19 in the displayed sequence; it lists iPadOS 13 through 17 and names iPhone models through the iPhone 17 family and iPhone Air, as well as iPad and iPod touch families. These are TunesKit compatibility claims, and the gap in its displayed version list makes it especially important to check the precise device and OS before purchasing. TunesKit technical reference
How the device scan works
- Connect the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a computer by USB.
- Tap “Trust” on the device if prompted.
- Choose the iOS-device recovery mode in TunesKit, then select the file types to scan.
- Start the scan and preview the results for the specific files you want.
TunesKit’s guide advises having the latest iTunes installed for device recovery. Its documented workflow uses a USB connection; it does not call for buying a separate cable. TunesKit user guide

Will it recover deleted data?
There is no assured outcome. TunesKit says overwritten data cannot be recovered, and its FAQ answers the question of whether recovery has a 100% success rate with: “No. It depends on whether your data is overwritten or not.” TunesKit product page TunesKit FAQ
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTunesKit’s guidance is to scan and preview first; it says files that appear in scan results may be recoverable. A preview is therefore a sensible basis for deciding whether to try the paid feature, but it is not a guarantee that every displayed item can be recovered successfully. This review did not test recovery on a device, so it cannot establish a success rate. TunesKit FAQ TunesKit product page

- The Data Recovery Stick requires no technical skills — simply plug it into your Windows computer, click Start, and the software automatically begins scanning and recovering lost files within minutes. Compatible with Windows Vista, 7, 8, 10, & 11, it's designed to be a reliable first step when accidental deletion occurs.
- Recover photos (JPG, BMP, PNG, TIFF), Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access), Open Office files, MP3 music files, PDFs, RTF documents, AutoCAD files, and HTML web pages. Whether it's personal memories or critical business files, the Data Recovery Stick covers the file types that matter most.
- Works with hard drives, USB drives, SD cards, memory sticks, and other common storage formats that use FAT or NTFS file systems — making it a single solution for hard drive recovery, USB drive recovery, SD card recovery, and more. Note: a media reader is required for micro SD cards and some mass storage devices.
- No Installation Required - The Data Recovery Stick runs entirely from the USB drive with no software installation on your computer — helping prevent new data from overwriting the files you're trying to recover. This also makes it ideal for use across multiple computers or in emergency situations where installation isn't practical.
- Use the Data Recovery Stick on as many computers as often as needed — simply clear the recovered data between uses to free up storage space. Software updates keep the tool compatible with newer systems and devices, backed by 25+ years of data software expertise from Paraben Consumer Software.
What if the iPhone is disabled or unavailable?
TunesKit says a disabled iOS device cannot be recovered directly from the device; the available routes are an iTunes or iCloud backup. That makes backup access a practical requirement in this situation. If the device is working, the documented direct-device scan is another route. TunesKit FAQ
What can you try before paying?
- Choose the recovery source that matches your situation: the working device, an iTunes backup, or an iCloud backup.
- Use the free scan and inspect the preview for the exact files you need—not merely the right category of data.
- Check that the displayed items are useful and that the supported device and OS claims match your setup.
- Only then decide whether paying for the full recovery feature is worth attempting.
The trial’s scan and preview are the most useful decision point TunesKit documents. The presence of a file in results is the vendor’s indicator to consider, not independent proof of a successful recovery. TunesKit product page TunesKit FAQ

Price and refund terms
On TunesKit’s Windows purchase page, checked September 28, 2026, the displayed options were $39.95 monthly, $49.95 annually, and $69.95 perpetual. The monthly and annual options were labeled auto-renewing, and the page stated a 30-day money-back guarantee. These are prices shown on that page on that date, not guaranteed future prices; check the current checkout terms before buying. TunesKit Windows purchase page
Who should consider TunesKit?
- It may be worth trying if you can scan a working device or access a relevant backup, and the free preview shows the files you actually want.
- It is a poor bet if the desired data does not appear in the preview, you lack a usable recovery source, or you need a guaranteed result.
- Before purchase, verify your exact device and OS, confirm which source you can use, and review the price, renewal, and refund terms shown at checkout.
There is no independent, scenario-specific performance evidence here to establish that TunesKit outperforms another recovery tool. When comparing alternatives, focus on source compatibility, previewing the exact files before payment, where recovered data is saved, current billing terms, and credible independent recovery testing.
