TSMC reported NT$505.74 billion in net income for the fourth quarter of 2025, up 35.0% from a year earlier in Taiwan-dollar terms. Revenue reached US$33.73 billion, up 25.5% year over year in U.S.-dollar terms. High-performance computing (HPC), a segment broader than AI, made up 55% of quarterly revenue. The figures show a strong quarter amid AI demand, but do not isolate AI sales or prove how long that demand will last.

How much did TSMC earn in Q4 2025?

For the quarter ended December 31, 2025, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) reported consolidated revenue of NT$1,046.09 billion, net income of NT$505.74 billion and diluted earnings per share of NT$19.50. The company also reported quarterly revenue of US$33.73 billion in U.S.-dollar terms.

TSMC’s January 15, 2026 earnings release reported U.S.-dollar revenue growth of 25.5% from 4Q24 and 1.9% from 3Q25. The earnings presentation gives comparisons in Taiwan dollars: revenue rose 20.5% year over year and 5.7% sequentially, while net income attributable to parent-company shareholders increased 35.0% year over year and 11.8% sequentially. These rates differ because they use different currencies; they should not be compared without that qualification. TSMC’s Q4 2025 earnings release and presentation provide the company’s reported figures.

Margins and profitability

For 4Q25, TSMC reported a 62.3% gross margin, a 54.0% operating margin and a 48.3% net profit margin. Those measures describe different stages of profitability: gross margin reflects revenue after cost of revenue, operating margin also accounts for operating expenses, and net profit margin reflects the share remaining as net income. They are not revenue growth rates.

How much of the quarter came from AI?

TSMC does not report an AI-only share of 4Q25 revenue in the figures cited here. Its earnings-call transcript says HPC accounted for 55% of quarterly revenue and 58% of full-year 2025 revenue; HPC revenue grew 4% quarter over quarter in Q4. HPC includes products beyond AI accelerators, so its share cannot be treated as AI’s share. TSMC’s earnings-call transcript reports the segment figures.

The annual report later described the company’s view of demand: “Entering 2026, we expect AI-related demand to continue to be robust, even as macroeconomic uncertainties persist.” That is management’s outlook, not an independently measured demand statistic. Quarterly results and the broader HPC category alone cannot establish how durable the AI investment cycle will be.

What did TSMC forecast after the record quarter?

On January 15, 2026, TSMC forecast first-quarter 2026 revenue of US$34.6–35.8 billion, gross margin of 63.0%–65.0%, and operating margin of 54.0%–56.0%. These were forecasts issued with the Q4 results, not current guidance or a statement of actual 1Q26 results. The date of the earnings conference is listed in TSMC’s financial calendar.

How Q4 fits into TSMC’s 2025 results

For the full year 2025, TSMC reported US$122.42 billion in revenue and US$55.21 billion in net income. Its annual report says U.S.-dollar revenue grew 35.9% year over year. These full-year totals are separate from the fourth-quarter results and provide context for the company’s annual performance, rather than a measure of Q4 alone. The report also described 2nm technology as having entered high-volume manufacturing in 4Q25 with good yield, and said TSMC expected a fast ramp in 2026; both are company-reported status and expectations. TSMC’s 2025 annual report gives the yearly figures and outlook.
