TSMC reported consolidated revenue of NT$511.86 billion for September 2026, up 54.6% from a year earlier but down 0.6% from August. The company’s broader outlook identifies robust AI-related demand as an important factor, but TSMC did not disclose how much AI contributed to September’s revenue or attribute the monthly increase to AI alone.
How much did TSMC’s September revenue increase?
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited reported NT$511.86 billion in consolidated revenue for September 2026. That was a 54.6% year-over-year increase. The company’s September 2026 revenue report, filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on October 8, 2026, reports company-wide revenue, not profit or a separate total for AI-related sales.
The comparison base was NT$330.98 billion in September 2025. TSMC reported that the earlier month had been up 31.4% from September 2024 and down 1.4% from August 2025, according to its September 2025 revenue release.
How do the annual, monthly and year-to-date figures compare?
These figures describe different periods, so they are not contradictory: September was far higher than the same month in 2025, slightly lower than August 2026, and part of a strongly growing first nine months.

TSMC’s 2025 annual report offers company-wide context for the role of AI in demand. It states: “Entering 2026, we expect AI-related demand to continue to be robust, even as macroeconomic uncertainties persist.” This is a statement in the company’s 2025 annual report, not a named executive’s explanation of September’s results.
Rank #2
The monthly revenue report provides consolidated totals and period comparisons; it does not break out AI-related revenue or say that AI alone caused September’s year-over-year increase. The annual-report outlook supports treating AI as relevant demand context, but it does not quantify AI’s contribution to this particular month.

What the figures do—and do not—show
- They show strong annual growth: September 2026 revenue was 54.6% above September 2025.
- They also show a small sequential decline: September revenue was 0.6% below August 2026.
- They show year-to-date growth: revenue for January through September 2026 was 41.1% higher than for the corresponding period in 2025.
- They do not show profit or an AI revenue total: the reported figures are consolidated revenue, and the monthly release does not attribute the increase to a specific demand source.
