A man was arrested after TSA officers reportedly found cocaine and ketamine in his luggage during screening at Phoenix Sky Harbor on September 26, 2026. The account, published by AZFamily and attributed to prosecutors and court documents, describes allegations and an arrest—not a finding of guilt.
What happened at Phoenix Sky Harbor?
AZFamily reported that Hayden Cole Hidalgo, 32, was at checkpoint C in Terminal 4 with a black backpack and black roller bag when TSA officers noticed suspicious material during screening. According to the report’s account of court documents, officers saw what was described as “organic material” inside the roller bag. A search of an Apple Mac mini box reportedly uncovered a bag containing a white, crystal-like substance, and TSA contacted Phoenix police.
The report says Phoenix police took over the investigation and custody. Its account attributes the discovery and screening sequence to prosecutors and court documents; the underlying paperwork was not available for independent review.

AZFamily reported that Phoenix police laboratory testing identified 10 grams of cocaine and 70 grams of ketamine. The story also mentioned a suspected ecstasy pill in the bag with the ketamine. These are quantities and identifications attributed to the reported police testing, not independently verified laboratory records.

What did prosecutors allege, and what did the passenger say?
Prosecutors reportedly alleged that Hidalgo planned to travel to San Diego. The same report says he denied knowing the drugs were in the bag and said he had bought the Apple Mac mini from a private seller. Those accounts are competing claims; the available reporting does not establish which is true.
What charges and court conditions were reported?
AZFamily said Hidalgo was booked on one count of narcotic drug possession for sale and one count of dangerous drug possession for sale. At his first court appearance, the judge reportedly set a $25,000 cash-only bond and required electronic monitoring and house arrest upon release. Prosecutors had reportedly requested a $75,000 bond, citing prior drug-related convictions and concerns that he might flee.
