For most people who want one projector for movies, streaming and gaming, the Hisense PX3-PRO is the strongest all-round pick in this comparison. It combines a 4K picture, built-in Google TV with Netflix, Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and high-refresh gaming features. If your priority is a larger picture or more brightness, the Hisense L9Q is specified for up to 200 inches and 5,000 ANSI lumens. Either way, a UST projector’s short throw does not remove the need to plan for a suitable screen, careful alignment and room lighting.
What a triple-laser 4K UST projector does
Triple-laser means the projector uses separate red, green and blue laser light sources. That RGB arrangement can support broad color coverage. UST means ultra-short throw: the projector sits close to the screen or wall and casts its image upward at a steep angle, rather than projecting from across the room.
For example, Hisense says the PX3-PRO can make a 100-inch image from 21.6 cm (about 8.5 inches) away and supports image sizes from 80 to 150 inches. That close placement can suit a room where a conventional projector would be difficult to mount, but the projector still needs precise positioning: small changes in cabinet alignment can affect the image’s shape and placement.

“Not stated” means the named source used for this comparison does not establish that specification; it does not mean the projector lacks the feature. ANSI-lumen values and other manufacturers’ lumen figures may not be directly comparable without a common test method.
Choose the PX3-PRO for a mixed-use room
Among these models, the PX3-PRO has the clearest documented combination of cinema, streaming and gaming features. Hisense says it has “Designed for Xbox Limited Series” certification, ALLM, 2K up to 240Hz and response processing under 6 microseconds. TechRadar’s 2025 review reports 4K 120Hz and 1080p 240Hz input, along with Netflix in Google TV and Dolby Vision and HDR10+ playback. These figures describe different modes and claims; 240Hz support should not be read as 4K at 240Hz.

- Triple Laser RGB Technology
Choose the L9Q when brightness or picture size leads
Hisense specifies the L9Q at 5,000 ANSI lumens and up to 200 inches, the largest maximum image size among the four models compared here. Those specifications make it the option to investigate first for a larger picture or a brighter room. They do not guarantee that a 200-inch image will look equally bright or retain strong contrast in every room; ambient light, screen gain and image size all affect the result.

The PT1 has a stated 110% BT.2020 gamut, 46W audio and support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HLG, but its listed brightness is lower than the PX3-PRO’s and L9Q’s. The LSP9T’s stated maximum is 130 inches, below the Hisense models’ ceilings, while Samsung lists 40W 4.2-channel audio and recommends a dedicated UST screen. Check current regional specifications and availability before buying, especially for the PT1: the cited Hisense page showed it sold out when accessed in 2026.

How to choose for your room
Match brightness to light and image size
Brightness matters most when you want to watch with some room light or use a very large image. A larger picture spreads the projector’s light over more area, and daylight can wash out contrast even when a projector has a high stated lumen rating. The L9Q’s 5,000 ANSI-lumen specification gives it the highest stated brightness in this comparison, but it is not a promise of a daylight-proof picture. For dark-room movie viewing, screen size and contrast may matter more than pursuing the brightest specification.
Measure the image position, not just the gap behind the cabinet
A throw ratio describes the relationship between projection distance and image width; it is not a universal cabinet-to-wall measurement. Hisense gives the PX3-PRO’s specific example of 100 inches from 21.6 cm, while its PT1 and L9Q specifications list ratios of 0.2 and 0.18:1 respectively. Before installation, use the exact model’s placement guidance to check the required image size and distance, then confirm that the cabinet can sit level and square to the screen. A few millimeters of skew can make an edge misaligned or the picture trapezoidal.

Budget for a screen as well as the projector
A plain, flat white wall can work: Samsung says the LSP9T can project on a flat white or bright monotone wall. Samsung nevertheless recommends a dedicated ultra-short-throw screen for an optimized experience. Hisense sells PT1 bundles with 100-, 110-, 120-, 139- and 150-inch ambient-light-rejecting (ALR) screens, indicating that screen size and light control are part of the intended setup.

It can help preserve contrast when room light is present and provide a consistent, flat image surface. It is not mandatory in every setup: a suitable wall may be adequate in a controlled, dim room. If daytime viewing or a clean rectangular image is important, plan for a screen matched to the projector’s UST geometry and the diagonal you can accommodate.

Check gaming, streaming and connectivity before you buy
- For gaming, confirm the resolution and refresh rate supported together, not just the highest refresh number. The PX3-PRO’s documented 4K 120Hz and 1080p 240Hz input modes are distinct. Hisense also lists ALLM and response processing under 6 microseconds; that processing figure is not a full system input-lag measurement.
- For streaming, the PX3-PRO has the clearest source-confirmed case here: TechRadar reports Netflix built into Google TV. App support can vary by region and over time, so verify the apps you rely on for the model sold in your market.
- For HDR, compare the formats your video sources actually use. The PX3-PRO and PT1 list Dolby Vision and HDR10+; the PT1 also lists HLG. The cited L9Q and Samsung pages do not establish comparable format details.
- For connections, TechRadar lists three HDMI 2.1 inputs on the PX3-PRO. Check the exact model’s input labels and supported features if you need multiple consoles, a sound system or a streaming device.
What the specifications cannot tell you
Manufacturer specifications and a single model review do not establish which projector will look best in every room. The available information here does not include independent, side-by-side measurements, long-term reliability results or verified current pricing and stock for every model. Treat stated brightness, color gamut, refresh support and response figures as model-specific claims, and check the current regional product page for final details before purchasing.
