Available reporting supports one tribal-linked development in Ottawa County—not six: a 52-unit mixed-income housing project at two sites in downtown Holland. A separate county broadband page mentions six additional fiber projects, but describes them as unrelated developments by other providers. The evidence does not establish a set of six tribal investments or a September investment trend.
What the Holland project includes
In a report updated June 17, 2026, Ottawa News Network described construction underway on a 52-unit mixed-income rental development across two downtown Holland locations. The project partners include Dwelling Place, Community Action House, Hope Church, Housing Next, the City of Holland, the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians (LRBOI), Little River Holdings and Orion Construction. Little River Holdings is described as LRBOI’s independent economic development arm. Ottawa News Network’s project report
| Site | Address | Planned units |
|---|---|---|
| Kollen Park | 345 W. 14th St. | 38 |
| Hope Church | 100 W. 10th St. | 14 |
The report says 11 units will be reserved for LRBOI community members. It also says some apartments are intended for adults with disabilities through the 811 Voucher Program. The project’s units are described as serving households at 80% of area median income (AMI) and below, including income levels below 60% AMI. The report does not give a unit-by-unit breakdown by affordability level or specify how many units will use the voucher program.
Why this is tribal-linked—and what that does not establish
LRBOI and its economic development arm, Little River Holdings, are named project partners, and the report identifies a tribal-member housing reservation. Brittney Drake, Little River Holdings’ senior vice president of economic development, said the project addresses the challenge tribal members can face in finding housing near jobs, family and tribal services. This establishes a tribal role in this particular housing partnership; it does not establish six separate tribal investments in the county.

Community Action House communications director Katy Russner-Travis described the mixed-income model as intended to serve households across a range of incomes. The report also frames the development as a response to local housing needs. It attributes a need for nearly 4,000 additional rental units by 2029 to Ottawa County housing data and community needs assessments, but does not identify the original assessment publisher or its methodology. Treat that figure as a statistic relayed by the report, not as an independently verified forecast. Ottawa News Network’s account of the housing-needs figure
Why the county’s six fiber projects are a separate story
Ottawa County’s broadband page says six additional fiber development projects are underway by other providers. It describes those projects as separate from the routes shown for the ROBIN grant and cautions that its map may omit addresses and is not a complete representation of fiber development. The page does not identify those fiber projects as tribal investments, and it does not connect them to the Holland housing development. They should not be counted as the six developments in a tribal-investment roundup. Ottawa County broadband information
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Project timing and what remains unconfirmed
The June 17, 2026 report said construction was underway, anticipated completion in January or February 2027, and expected pre-leasing to begin in summer 2026. Those are projections reported at that time, not confirmation of current construction, leasing or completion status. Readers seeking an apartment should confirm availability and application details with the project partners rather than rely on the earlier schedule.
The available evidence supports describing one 52-unit, two-site Holland housing project with named tribal participation. It does not identify six tribal-linked developments, document their investment amounts or structures, or substantiate a September trend. A roundup making those claims would need project-by-project confirmation of the tribal entity’s role, investment, location, status and timing.
