Bing’s “trending now” searches are not a single, permanently published global list. What appears can depend on your country or region, the current date, cookies, browser, device, and whether Bing is using activity-based personalization.
That matters when someone asks for “today’s top searches.” A list seen in Bing in the United States may not match one shown in another country, and the official Bing pages currently do not provide a stable, date-stamped page or documented command for retrieving a universal ranking.
How to check what is trending on Bing
Open Bing.com and look for the current search, news, or recommendation surfaces displayed by Bing. The exact presentation can vary with region, account state, cookies, and the version of the page being served.
If you want to check the settings that influence recommendations, use this path:

- Go to Bing.com.
- Open Settings.
- Select Personalization.
- Review Trending Now And Image Feed Personalization.
Bing’s current control is labeled Enable personalization. The accompanying text says: “Allow Bing to use your activities to improve the image, video and trending now recommendations experience.”
Turn the control on or off as required, then select Save. The page also provides Cancel and Use default settings buttons.
Trending recommendations are not search suggestions
Bing has a separate control for autocomplete suggestions. In Settings → Search, the relevant label is See search suggestions as you type.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →This setting controls suggestions that appear while you enter a query. It is not the same as the trending-recommendations control under Personalization. Disabling autocomplete therefore does not necessarily remove every trending or recommendation surface, and changing the trending personalization setting does not mean that typed search suggestions use the same behavior.
| Feature | Where to find it | What it affects |
|---|---|---|
| Trending and image-feed personalization | Settings → Personalization | Whether Bing can use your activities to improve image, video, and trending-now recommendations |
| Search suggestions | Settings → Search | Suggestions shown as you type |
Why your Bing trends may differ from someone else’s
There is no reliable way to interpret a “top searches today” list without recording the conditions under which it was viewed. Bing identifies several settings and circumstances that can change the experience.

- Country or region: Local events, language, and regional interest can change what is surfaced.
- Personalization: Activity-based recommendations may produce a different set of suggestions from a non-personalized view.
- Cookies: Clearing cookies can remove the stored regional choice and other local state.
- Device and browser: Using a different browser or device may require Bing settings to be configured again.
- Date and time: A trend list can change during the day as news and public interest shift.
To check the regional setting, open Bing Settings → Country/region. Bing shows the current region—for example, Your country/region is set to United States – English—and provides a Current country/region selector. The country list includes United States along with other available choices.
Bing says that in most countries the selected country or region does not change automatically based on your location. However, clearing cookies or switching to another browser or device means you may need to set it again. Bing also warns that changing the country or region may change the display language and other settings.

For that reason, “today’s top searches” should always be described with a region, such as “Bing trends in United States – English,” rather than presented as a universal worldwide ranking.
What Bing does—and does not—document
It is common to see instructions claiming that Bing has a dedicated Trending Now switch or a fixed URL for a page called Today’s Top Searches. The current official Settings page does not support that description.
Trending-related personalization is currently bundled under Trending Now And Image Feed Personalization. Bing’s examined official pages also do not expose a documented command syntax or stable static page labeled “Today’s Top Searches.” Avoid treating an old shortcut, search operator, or third-party trend page as an official current Bing command unless Bing itself documents it.

The practical method is to view Bing’s current results and record the region, date, and relevant personalization state. That produces a useful snapshot, but not a permanent ranking that everyone will see.
How to make a fair comparison of Bing trends
- Choose and record the country and language under Settings → Country/region.
- Record the date and approximate time, including the time zone.
- Decide whether personalization should be enabled under Settings → Personalization.
- Use the same browser and device for repeated checks.
- Do not compare a personalized list with a non-personalized list as though they were equivalent.
- When publishing the result, label it with the region and timestamp.
This approach is especially important for news, sports, elections, entertainment releases, severe weather, and other subjects where interest can change quickly.
Other Bing settings that can change what you see
The Settings page currently includes these visible sections: Search, Country/region, Language, Voice, Homepage, and Personalization.
SafeSearch is under the search-related settings. Its available choices are:
| Option | Current description |
|---|---|
| Strict | Filter out explicit text, images, and videos from your search results |
| Moderate | Filter explicit images and videos but not text from your search results |
| Off | Don’t filter explicit content from your search results |
Turning SafeSearch off requires age verification. Bing displays Agree and Disagree buttons. Selecting Disagree returns you to Settings. SafeSearch is not a trending switch, but it can affect which results are visible when you investigate a popular query.

Homepage presentation is controlled separately. Under Homepage, Bing currently offers Play automatically, Don’t play automatically, and Show a still image for videos and panoramas. Under Customize homepage, the available controls include Show homepage image and Show menu bar. These options change the Bing homepage display, not the existence of a verified global “top searches” feed.

Bing can show trending recommendations, but there is no verified current official page that guarantees one global, date-stamped list of the day’s top searches. Use Bing’s live interface, check Settings → Personalization and Settings → Country/region, and document the conditions if you need a reproducible result.
