Tom’s Hardware reported on October 5, 2026, that Amazon was selling TP-Link’s Archer BE230 for $79.98, down from $119.99—a 33% discount and, according to that report, the lowest Amazon price seen up to that date. The report’s offer was expected to end later that week, so the price and stock may have changed. Check the dated deal report against the live Amazon listing before buying.

What does BE3600 mean in the Archer BE230’s name?

Archer BE230 is the router’s model name; BE3600 is TP-Link’s product-class branding for its dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router. The “3600” refers to a combined maximum wireless rate, not the speed a device will necessarily measure on an internet connection.

TP-Link lists maximum rates of 2,882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, for up to 3.6 Gbps combined. These are theoretical Wi-Fi PHY rates based on the wireless specifications. Actual throughput depends on the internet plan, connected device, distance, walls and interference. See TP-Link’s US Archer BE230 specifications.

What does the reported deal include?

The October 5, 2026, Tom’s Hardware report listed the Archer BE230 at $79.98, reduced from $119.99. It described the discount as 33% and the price as the lowest seen on Amazon to that date. That historical-low claim applies to Amazon price history covered by the report; it is not a record across every retailer or a guarantee of today’s price. The offer was expected to end later that week.

Earlier, on August 25, 2026, TechRadar reported an Amazon price of $79.99, down from $119.99, and described it as the lowest price seen since November 2025. That is earlier price context, not confirmation that the October offer remains available. See TechRadar’s August deal coverage.

Does the BE230 have 6 GHz Wi-Fi?

No. The Archer BE230 is dual-band, with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi 7 support; it does not include the 6 GHz band. That matters if you own Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 devices and specifically want to use 6 GHz. RTINGS notes that the missing band limits the top speeds available to those clients. Buyers who need 6 GHz should compare a tri-band router that explicitly lists it.

What wired ports and features does it offer?

TP-Link lists one 2.5 Gbps WAN port, one 2.5 Gbps LAN port, three 1 Gbps LAN ports and a USB 3.0 port. The faster WAN port can suit an internet plan above 1 Gbps; the 2.5 Gbps LAN port can connect a compatible wired device at more than gigabit speeds. Those benefits require compatible equipment and service—ordinary gigabit ports or a slower ISP plan will constrain the connection.

TP-Link also lists four external antennas with beamforming, Multi-Link Operation, 4K-QAM, EasyMesh compatibility, setup through the Tether app, HomeShield, and VPN client and server features. These are manufacturer-listed capabilities, not assurances of a particular speed or coverage in every home.

Is the Archer BE230 suitable for gaming and streaming?

It can serve high-bandwidth activity when the connection, client and distance are suitable, but the BE3600 class number does not guarantee multi-gigabit internet throughput or uninterrupted streaming. Actual performance varies with the ISP connection, device support, home construction, router placement and interference.

RTINGS describes the router as adequate for casual gaming and recommends Ethernet for competitive play, where a wired connection can provide more consistent stability than Wi-Fi. Its review also notes that 5 GHz speeds decline at longer distances. If coverage is weak in distant rooms, compatible EasyMesh equipment may help extend it; check compatibility before choosing a router or extender.
