Toys“R”Us is set to open a year-round standalone store at Oviedo Mall in Oviedo, part of the Orlando area. Local reports published September 30 and updated October 1, 2026, described a fall opening expected around early October, but did not give a confirmed date, store hours, or opening-event details. Check the mall’s announcement or the official Toys“R”Us store locator before making a trip.
Where the new Toys“R”Us is opening
The announced store is at Oviedo Mall in Oviedo, Florida. Calling it a return to Orlando refers to the new location in the greater Orlando area; it does not mean that all Toys“R”Us activity or retail formats had left the region.
The mall described the location as year-round. That describes the planned operating format, not the length of the lease: the Orlando Business Journal reported a short-term lease, so the store should not be characterized as a permanent, long-term location.

What shoppers may find inside
Toys“R”Us’ national rollout announcement names LEGO, Barbie, Hot Wheels, and Pokémon among the brands planned for new standalone stores. That is a description of the broader rollout, not a confirmed Oviedo inventory list. The company has not published an Oviedo-specific stock list in the available reports.
If you are looking for a particular set, such as a LEGO building set, check with the store once it opens rather than assuming it will be in stock. Local availability has not been confirmed.
How the Oviedo store fits the national expansion
On September 17, 2026, Toys“R”Us announced that it planned to open 120 new standalone stores across the United States with Go! Retail Group. The company said that would bring its announced standalone U.S. total to 160 by the 2026 holiday season. These are company-announced plans, not independently verified counts of stores already open.
The same national announcement describes a wider brand footprint that includes standalone stores and shop-in-shops at Macy’s, airports, and Navy Exchange locations. It does not establish which of those formats is nearest to any particular shopper.
Oviedo Mall Marketing & Events Director Josh Gunderson told ClickOrlando that “Getting to welcome Toys’R’Us to Oviedo Mall year-round feels incredibly special.” He also said the store fits the mall’s aim to be “a place where people actually want to spend their time.”
