Toyo Engineering’s g-Steam is an industrial electric boiler designed to supply steam to manufacturing plants. It heats steam-generating tubes directly with electricity and has a stated equivalent evaporation capacity of 2 to 25 ton/h per unit. The boiler itself produces no flue-gas emissions because it burns no fuel; the carbon intensity of the steam depends on how its electricity is generated.
How g-Steam makes steam
g-Steam is a tube-type electric boiler. Electricity passes directly through the steam-generating tubes, heating them by Joule heating to produce steam. Toyo Engineering says the design draws on technology refined over many years in auxiliary boiler systems for nuclear power plants. Chemical Engineering’s October 6, 2026 report attributes the product description to Toyo Engineering.
Stated capacity and potential applications
Toyo Engineering reports an equivalent evaporation capacity of 2 to 25 ton/h per unit, positioning g-Steam for medium- to large-scale steam requirements. The company names pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food and beverage manufacturing as potential application sectors.

What its emissions claims mean
Because g-Steam burns no fuel, the boiler itself produces no flue-gas emissions, according to the report. That does not mean the steam supply is automatically carbon-free: electricity generation can produce emissions. Toyo Engineering says using renewable electricity can reduce the carbon intensity of steam supplied to a manufacturing facility, but the report gives no lifecycle emissions calculation or quantified reduction.
How it is intended to handle changing demand
Toyo Engineering says g-Steam has a wide load-control range and responds rapidly, allowing it to accommodate changes in steam demand and in the availability of renewable electricity from sources such as solar and wind. The report provides no turndown range, response-time measurement, or independent test results, so a facility would need to verify performance against its own operating profile.

The company also says the design minimizes auxiliary equipment, that fewer maintenance and inspection tasks may lower maintenance costs, and that push-button operation may reduce operator workload. No maintenance intervals, cost figures, or operating data are supplied to substantiate those potential benefits.
What a plant should verify before evaluating it
The available product report is not a procurement specification or comparison with other boilers. An engineering and purchasing review should establish whether g-Steam fits the facility’s requirements and site conditions, including:
