In Tower of Fantasy, build for the activity in PvE; in Apex League PvP, build around weapon kits and the arena’s separate rules. Weapon resonance effects vary between solo and team play in PvE. The available Apex League reference says resonance, Simulacrum traits and Matrix effects are disabled there, with stats normalized. That means a PvE setup may still bring useful weapons into the arena, but its bonuses should not be assumed to carry over.
How should you build a PvE team?
Start with what the activity asks you to do, then choose weapons whose roles and kits fit that job. The weapon reference describes four resonances—Attack, Fortitude, Benediction and Balance—while a Tower of Fantasy Index guide groups roles as Attacker, Tank and Support. These are useful frameworks for thinking about damage, durability and support, not a universal team formula.
Choose for the activity and your roster
- For a damage-focused setup, favor weapons and roles that support dealing damage.
- If survival or breaking enemy defenses is the issue, consider whether your available weapons offer the durability or shatter tools the encounter needs.
- If the activity benefits from healing or support, consider Benediction-oriented options and the rest of the team’s coverage.
- Use the weapons you have and can invest in; the available sources do not establish one best composition for every roster or PvE activity.
These are decision cues, not claims that every PvE activity requires a dedicated tank or healer. The right balance depends on the activity and whether you are playing alone or with others.
Account for solo and co-op differences
Resonance effects differ between solo and team play, according to the weapon reference and the Tower of Fantasy Index guide. Check how the role bonuses apply in the situation you are entering rather than assuming a co-op configuration behaves identically when played solo.

Different PvE activities can call for different setups
Progression modes are not interchangeable just because they are PvE. In its version 6.3 announcement on 2026-09-10, the official Tower of Fantasy team said it “Added new levels to Bygone Phantasm: Boundless Realm” and launched a new Sequential Phantasm season. The announcement confirms new progression content, not a recommended team for either mode.
What changes in Apex League PvP?
A community-maintained Apex League reference describes the arena as normalizing stats and disabling Weapon Resonance effects, Simulacrum traits and Matrix effects. It also reports reduced healing and unavailable Jetboards. No official current rules page was found in the available sources, so confirm the details in the game before relying on them as current.

Prioritize the weapon kit and matchup
With the listed PvE bonuses disabled in Apex League, evaluate what a weapon can do under the arena rules and how its kit fits the opponent and situation. Do not select a weapon solely because its resonance or Matrix setup is valuable in PvE: those effects may not apply in this mode.

Do not carry PvE stat assumptions into the arena
The community reference reports similar base stats, weapon stats, Relic stats and advancement or enhancement stats across players, alongside stat normalization. That makes PvE investment a poor standalone guide to expected arena performance. Exact details are subject to the source limitation above.

Which parts of a PvE setup carry over?
Your weapons may still be usable, but the build logic changes. A weapon’s kit can remain relevant even when its PvE resonance, trait or Matrix advantages do not. Treat Apex League as a separate ruleset: check the active effects, then judge the weapons by their in-mode capabilities rather than by the full PvE loadout’s bonuses.

Weapon rankings depend on the activity, available roster, investment and balance version. The available sources do not substantiate a definitive current PvE or PvP tier list, so a named universal “best team” would overstate the evidence.

Version context matters. The official version 6.3 announcement dated 2026-09-10 records new Phantasm content and says The Witch’s Key weapon and Gray Fox Matrices entered permanent Choice Orders after the update; this is availability context, not a recommendation to acquire them. Tower of Fantasy Tools lists a 2026-09-26 changelog entry for Zoey and maintains weapon, Matrix, gear and team data. It is a community build tool, not an official balance authority.

A practical way to choose between builds
- Identify the mode. Decide whether you are preparing for a PvE activity or Apex League.
- For PvE, identify the job. Consider whether damage, support, durability, shatter or a balance of roles best serves the activity.
- Check solo or co-op context. Account for the difference in resonance effects and team role bonuses.
- For Apex League, verify the rules in-game. The available detailed mode account is community-maintained rather than an official current rules page.
- Evaluate weapons under that mode’s rules. In Apex, focus on weapon kits and matchups instead of assuming PvE resonance, trait or Matrix effects apply.
- Recheck after updates. Patch notes can add content and community tools can log weapon changes, but neither alone establishes an optimal team.
