Total War: WARHAMMER, the 2016 strategy game set in the Warhammer Fantasy Battles world, was reported 75% off on Steam in October 2026. The offer and the headline’s 78% review figure are snapshots, not fixed facts: Notebookcheck reported a US price of $14.99 (down from $59.99) and an October 8, 2026 end date, while Steam’s page accessed October 7 showed a New Zealand price of NZ$24.99 (down from NZ$99.99). Check your own regional Steam listing for the current price and sale end time.
What game is on sale?
Total War: WARHAMMER is the first game in Creative Assembly’s fantasy strategy series, published by SEGA and released on May 24, 2016. Steam describes a mix of turn-based campaign management and real-time battles: you expand and manage territory, then command armies in tactical combat in the Warhammer Fantasy Battles setting. Steam’s product page says, “The Old World is yours to command.” View Total War: WARHAMMER on Steam.
The base game lists five playable races: Bretonnia, the Empire, the Dwarfs, the Vampire Counts, and the Greenskins. Steam describes distinct characters, units, campaign mechanics, and play styles, so the choice of faction shapes more than the army’s appearance.

The “78%” in the headline reflects Notebookcheck’s October 6, 2026 report, which attributed that score to 53,065 Steam reviews. It is not the same measure as Steam’s own page snapshot accessed October 7: Steam showed 82% positive from 18,181 English-language reviews and 91% positive from 34 recent reviews. Each figure refers to a different source snapshot or review cohort; ratings and counts can change. Steam also excludes certain periods of off-topic review activity from its score calculation. What does the 75% discount mean for your region?
Notebookcheck reported a US offer of $14.99, reduced from $59.99, with the sale ending October 8, 2026. The Steam page accessed for this article displayed a New Zealand storefront price of NZ$24.99, reduced from NZ$99.99. Those are regional snapshots, not interchangeable prices; the reported US amount and expiry were not independently confirmed on the accessed Steam page. Discounts, prices, and end times can change, so use the Steam listing for your country to verify what you would pay and when the offer ends.
What is included—and what costs extra?
The discount described here is for the base game. Steam lists paid DLC and bundles separately, so do not assume the base-game price includes those add-ons. Notebookcheck also noted reader complaints about DLC pricing. Check each Steam listing’s included content and regional price before adding it to your cart.

Is this the same as Total War: WARHAMMER III’s Immortal Empires?
No. Total War: WARHAMMER is a separate 2016 game, not Total War: WARHAMMER III. Steam says that owning the first or second game grants access to Immortal Empires when launching Total War: WARHAMMER III; that cross-title feature does not turn this discounted base game into the third game or include the third game itself.
