Top 5 best cloud migration software in 2024 depends on what you are moving: CloudFuze and Cloudsfer target files and cloud storage, ShareGate Migrate and Cloudiway target Microsoft 365 and collaboration tenants, and LeapLogic targets legacy data-platform modernization. None is a universal server, VM, or application-migration platform.

The five-product shortlist below follows the 2024 ranking published by Tech Times, but the categories are not interchangeable. Infrastructure teams should also evaluate native services such as AWS Transform MGN, Azure Migrate, and Google Cloud migration products.

Key takeaways

  • CloudFuze is the strongest fit in this shortlist for complex enterprise content migrations involving permissions, versions, links, timestamps, and multiple SaaS platforms.
  • Cloudsfer is aimed at cloud-storage and file transfers, with public volume-based pricing observed from $100 per month on its newer pricing page.
  • LeapLogic is a legacy-workload modernization product for areas such as ETL, Hadoop, data warehouses, and analytics—not a general file or mailbox copier.
  • ShareGate Migrate is specialized for Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and selected Google Workspace-to-Microsoft 365 projects; official plans were shown starting at $5,995.
  • Cloudiway is designed for tenant, mail, drive, archive, and collaboration migrations, including merger and acquisition scenarios, with bundles observed from approximately €450.
  • For servers and virtual machines, evaluate AWS Transform MGN, Azure Migrate, or Google Cloud migration tools instead of assuming that one of the five SaaS-focused products is suitable.

What does cloud migration software actually migrate?

Cloud migration software moves or transforms a defined workload; “cloud migration” is not one technical category. Depending on the product, a migration may involve files and folders, sharing permissions, external links, versions, timestamps, email, calendars, contacts, archives, collaboration spaces, tenants, virtual machines, databases, ETL pipelines, Hadoop workloads, data warehouses, legacy code, identity configuration, or application dependencies.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A successful copy is not necessarily a successful migration. A file platform can report that every file transferred while losing inherited permissions, external shares, comments, links, ownership, or retention metadata. A tenant project can move mail and documents while leaving behind devices, aliases, groups, workflows, applications, or directory relationships. Define the objects and behavior that must survive before comparing products.

Quick comparison: which 2024 cloud migration tool fits?

Product Best for Main migration type Key strength Pricing signal Biggest limitation
CloudFuze Large enterprise content moves Files, cloud storage, SaaS, chat, and tenants Metadata, permissions, links, versions, and delta migration Custom quote; one-off, annual, recurring, and pay-as-you-go options are described May be excessive for a small, simple transfer
Cloudsfer Budget-conscious file and storage migration Cloud-to-cloud and on-premises file transfers Public volume-based plans, backup, sync, filters, and reporting Newer page showed $0, $100, $320, and $780 monthly tiers by volume Not a VM, database, or application-modernization platform
LeapLogic Legacy data-platform modernization ETL, Hadoop, data warehouses, analytics, and legacy code Workload profiling, translation, validation, and reconciliation Verify with vendor; current pricing was not verified Requires workload-specific compatibility assessment
ShareGate Migrate Microsoft 365 and SharePoint projects SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, file shares, and selected tenant moves Microsoft-focused migration workflow and validation Essentials from $5,995; Pro from $9,995; Enterprise from $17,995 Not suitable for general server or VM migration
Cloudiway Tenant, mail, and collaboration migration Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Teams, Slack, and Google Chat Workload bundles, delta passes, coexistence, and M&A use cases Bundles observed from approximately €450 Bundle economics may be poor for a narrow requirement

The five-product ranking comes from the 2024 Tech Times article and is an editorial shortlist, not an independently audited industry ranking. The list combines content migration, collaboration migration, tenant migration, and legacy modernization products.

How were the five products compared?

The useful comparison is workload-specific. Check the following criteria against the exact source and destination rather than accepting a general statement that a vendor “supports” a platform.

Criterion Questions to ask
Workload fit Does the product move files, tenants, mailboxes, VMs, databases, legacy code, or only some of these?
Source and target coverage Are the exact platforms and migration direction supported?
Metadata preservation Are permissions, timestamps, versions, links, owners, comments, and external shares retained?
Incremental migration Can the tool perform delta passes and detect changed objects?
Discovery and assessment Does the product inventory content, map dependencies, size workloads, or identify incompatibilities?
Automation Can it map users, schedule waves, retry failures, and reconcile results?
Validation Are there reports, checksums, error logs, retry controls, and object-level comparisons?
Security and compliance How are OAuth tokens, credentials, temporary data, logs, encryption, subprocessors, and data residency handled?
Scale and throttling What are the concurrency limits, API constraints, bandwidth requirements, and expected processing model?
Commercial fit Is the license per user, workload, volume, project, or year, and what support is included?
Recovery Can the source remain available, failed items be recopied, and a cutover be rolled back?

1. CloudFuze: best for complex enterprise content migration

CloudFuze is the best choice in this shortlist for large-scale, complex content migrations where permissions, versions, timestamps, links, external shares, and folder structures matter. CloudFuze describes support for migrations involving Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Box, Dropbox, Egnyte, and related SaaS content, but buyers should verify every source-target pair and object type in a pilot.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

According to CloudFuze’s official FAQ, the platform supports one-time and delta migrations and describes capabilities including file versions, selective versions, folder and file permissions, external shares, embedded links, shared links, timestamps, Dropbox Paper, and Box Notes. Those are valuable controls when a migration must preserve how users work—not merely transfer raw bytes.

CloudFuze’s official pricing page uses a quote-based model. The quoted cost can vary with users, data size, metadata requirements, and license type; the vendor describes one-off and annual licensing plus recurring or pay-as-you-go options for MSPs. This commercial model suits an enterprise project that needs consultation, a demonstration, or a proof of concept, but it makes CloudFuze difficult to compare with a simple per-gigabyte tool.

Where CloudFuze fits

  • Large file and cloud-content migrations across multiple SaaS systems.
  • Projects where permissions, versions, timestamps, external shares, and links must be preserved.
  • Staged migrations that require repeated delta passes.
  • Managed or assisted projects needing a dedicated migration contact.

CloudFuze limitations

  • There is no transparent public project price.
  • A complex enterprise platform may be unnecessary for a small, uncomplicated file move.
  • Vendor feature descriptions should be tested against the specific objects and permissions in the source environment.
  • CloudFuze should not be treated as a replacement for server, VM, network, or application dependency planning.

2. Cloudsfer: best for cost-conscious cloud-storage migration

Cloudsfer is the best fit for straightforward cloud-storage and file migration when public, volume-based pricing is important. Cloudsfer describes cloud-storage transfers, backup, synchronization, delta migration, reporting, filtering, and on-premises sources on its official product site.

Pricing requires particular care because Cloudsfer’s official pages have changed. The newer migration-pricing page, observed on August 16, 2026, showed a free tier up to 1 GB, Essential at $100 per month up to 100 GB, Professional at $320 per month up to 400 GB, and Enterprise at $780 per month up to 1 TB. The page also showed overage rates between $0.80 and $1.20 per additional GB depending on the plan, along with a separate “from $0.25 per GB” transfer signal.

  • High Transfer Speed: This SATA reader is designed with USB 3.0 and Type C port and supports transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps, which not only enables fast file transfer, but also ensures data security. It is also backward compatible with USB 2.0/1.1. NOTE: the actual transfer speed depend on the setting of the connected devices
  • 2 In 1 Dual Interface: Adopting USB 3.0 and Type C 2 in 1 dual interface design, our external hard drive reader is suitable for various types of computers or laptops, more convenience and economical, greatly meet your need. Support hot swap. Led indicator light shows power and activity status
  • Package included: Hard drive adapter x1, 4 pin power cable x1, 12V 2A power adapter x1, USB + USB C cable, user manual x1. For 3.5" IDE drivers and old SATA HDD, you need to connect this 12V 2A power adapter and 4-pin power cable for a better connection

Because the same page presents more than one pricing signal, treat the figures as a dated indication rather than a permanent quote and confirm the amount at checkout. An older official page showed Basic at $25 per month, Standard at $100, and Pro at $250; those older figures demonstrate why the outdated $25 starting price should not be presented as current.

When Cloudsfer makes sense

  • A small or midsize organization is moving files between supported cloud-storage providers.
  • The project benefits from backup, synchronization, filters, reporting, or delta migration.
  • A public volume-based commercial model is preferable to an enterprise custom quote.
  • The migration does not require server rehosting, database conversion, or legacy-code transformation.

Cloudsfer limitations

Per-gigabyte charges can become significant for large datasets. API limits, file complexity, data volume, network speed, and provider throttling affect completion time. Test permissions, versions, links, unsupported file types, and shared-content behavior before committing to a large transfer.

3. LeapLogic: best for legacy data and application modernization

LeapLogic is the most relevant choice here for modernizing legacy data workloads rather than simply copying content to a cloud account. The 2024 source describes LeapLogic as an automation platform for legacy ETL systems, data warehouses, Hadoop, analytics platforms, code, and business logic.

The described workflow includes profiling workloads and dependencies, creating architecture blueprints and capacity plans, translating legacy code and business logic, validating pipelines and queries, generating reconciliation scripts, and packaging workloads for target cloud orchestrators. That makes LeapLogic conceptually different from CloudFuze, Cloudsfer, ShareGate, and Cloudiway: the central problem is transformation and validation, not only transfer.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

LeapLogic should be purchased only after a workload-specific assessment and proof of concept. Claims such as “up to 95% automation” or “four times faster” should be treated as vendor or source claims, not guaranteed results. Current LeapLogic pricing, certifications, exact compatibility, and current automation percentages were not verifiable in the supplied research, so request first-party documentation before publishing those details into a procurement specification.

LeapLogic is a poor fit when

  • The project is only moving files, mailboxes, or collaboration tenants.
  • The source technology or target architecture has not been explicitly confirmed as supported.
  • The buyer expects a self-service, transparent-price transfer utility.
  • The project lacks time for code validation, data reconciliation, and application testing.

4. ShareGate Migrate: best for Microsoft 365 and SharePoint

ShareGate Migrate is the strongest shortlist choice for Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and related collaboration migrations. ShareGate’s migration plan details describe support for SharePoint, Teams, Planner, OneDrive, file shares, Google Workspace, Box, Exchange Online mailboxes, and Entra ID migration features, although some capabilities are marked as preview or subject to plan, tenant-size, or national-cloud limitations.

The official ShareGate pricing page, observed on August 16, 2026, listed Essentials starting at $5,995, Pro starting at $9,995, and Enterprise starting at $17,995. These are substantial project-license starting figures rather than ordinary low-cost monthly SaaS subscriptions. Plan differences include migration concurrency, workstations, workloads, support, and organization-size limits, so throughput and staffing can matter as much as the headline price.

ShareGate is especially useful when administrators need a Microsoft-focused workflow and structured validation of files and folders. A free-trial option was shown on the pricing page, which can help test object coverage before a purchase.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

ShareGate limitations

  • The license can be disproportionate for a small migration.
  • ShareGate is not a server, VM, database, or legacy-code migration platform.
  • Preview features and national-cloud or tenant-size restrictions require confirmation before design approval.
  • Desktop, workstation, and concurrency limits can affect the migration schedule.

5. Cloudiway: best for tenant and collaboration migrations

Cloudiway is the best fit for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace tenant migrations, collaboration moves, and merger-and-acquisition projects that need staged coexistence. The 2024 coverage describes support for mail, files, sites, tenants, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Intune settings, laptop moves between Microsoft 365 tenants, and coexistence features.

Cloudiway’s official pricing page, observed on August 16, 2026, displayed bundles starting at approximately €450. Examples included Standard at €475/$570 for 50 licenses and one workload, Premium at €490/$590 for 35 licenses covering mail and Drive, Super Premium at €525/$630 for 35 licenses covering mail, Drive, and archive, Tenant Migration at €500/$580 for 20 licenses, Collaborative at €450/$570 for Teams, Slack, and Google Chat, and Document at €500/$600 for 1 TB of cloud-storage migration.

The Cloudiway page says licenses do not expire and bundles include unlimited delta passes. Currency, license quantity, bundle composition, and prices can change, so use the page as a dated pricing signal and confirm the exact quote. Bundle pricing can be attractive for a broad tenant project but inefficient when an organization needs only one narrow workload.

Where Cloudiway is strongest

  • Microsoft 365 tenant consolidation or separation.
  • Google Workspace-to-Microsoft 365 migration.
  • Mail, Drive, archive, Teams, Slack, and Google Chat projects.
  • Mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and temporary coexistence.
  • Staged projects requiring repeatable delta passes.

Cloudiway is not a general-purpose VM or server migration platform. Endpoint and laptop moves also require separate identity, device, application, and user-readiness planning.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Are these five products suitable for server and VM migration?

No. The five-product shortlist is incomplete for infrastructure migration. CloudFuze, Cloudsfer, ShareGate, and Cloudiway primarily address content, SaaS, collaboration, or tenant moves; LeapLogic addresses selected legacy modernization workloads. A team moving servers and applications should add a hyperscaler-native tool to the evaluation.

Infrastructure scenario Tool to evaluate Why it fits Not the right primary use
Rehost applications to AWS AWS Transform MGN AWS positions the service for rehosting on-premises and cloud-based applications to AWS. Microsoft 365 tenant or collaboration-content migration
Assess and plan an Azure migration Azure Migrate Microsoft describes Azure Migrate for migration planning and related assessment and migration activities. Cross-SaaS file permissions and collaboration metadata
Assess or migrate workloads to Google Cloud Google Cloud Migration Center and Google Cloud VM migration Google provides native inventory, assessment, and virtual-machine migration capabilities. Microsoft 365 tenant consolidation or mailbox migration

AWS’s former Migration Hub positioning should not be presented as a current standalone 2024-era product without qualification: AWS now presents AWS Transform as the broader migration and modernization context, with AWS Transform MGN covering application rehosting.

What should you do before buying migration software?

  1. Inventory the environment. Record sources, destinations, users, groups, permissions, data volume, file counts, mailboxes, applications, devices, and undocumented dependencies.
  2. Define the migration strategy. Rehosting moves a workload with minimal changes; replatforming makes limited changes for managed services; refactoring or rearchitecting redesigns it for cloud-native operation; repurchasing replaces it with SaaS; retiring decommissions it; retaining keeps it where migration is uneconomic, unsafe, or impractical.
  3. Separate workloads. Do not evaluate a file-transfer tool as an application-migration tool or a tenant tool as a VM-rehosting tool.
  4. List unsupported objects. Ask specifically about archives, shared drives, external shares, embedded links, Teams chats versus channels, SharePoint workflows, Planner objects, comments, reactions, labels, and retention metadata.
  5. Check identity mapping. Test changed user principal names, recreated identities, group object IDs, external users, shared mailboxes, aliases, and domains that move between tenants.
  6. Run a representative pilot. Include ordinary users, executives, shared content, large files, complex permissions, external shares, archives, and failure cases.
  7. Measure success before copying. Define acceptable results for object counts, permissions, versions, timestamps, links, mail, calendars, application behavior, and user access.
  8. Check quotas and costs. Include API throttling, concurrency, bandwidth, temporary storage, destination storage, cloud egress, duplicate systems during coexistence, consulting, and remediation.
  9. Perform a delta migration. A second pass captures changes made after the initial copy and reduces the final cutover window.
  10. Reconcile before decommissioning. Keep the source available until counts, permissions, metadata, links, application behavior, and user acceptance are verified.

What migration risks do buyers commonly underestimate?

Permissions and metadata

Inherited permissions, external shares, versions, timestamps, ownership, comments, reactions, sensitivity labels, retention metadata, and embedded links can be more important than the file count. Ask the vendor to demonstrate the exact source and destination behavior with test data.

API throttling and migration speed

Cloud providers can throttle large jobs. Examine concurrent-job limits, retry and backoff behavior, delta-pass support, API-quota guidance, overnight scheduling, and whether the product uses delegated access, OAuth, or service accounts. “Four times faster” is not a planning assumption without a workload-specific test.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Identity and domain changes

Tenant projects become harder when user principal names change, domains move between tenants, identities or groups are recreated, external users become internal users, or devices must join a new directory. A content-copy plan is not an identity-redesign plan.

Compliance and temporary data

Ask where migration data is processed, whether content is stored or streamed, which subprocessors are involved, how encryption works in transit and at rest, how OAuth tokens are protected, how logs and temporary copies are deleted, and whether the required regional or sovereign-cloud environment is supported.

Rollback and cutover

Confirm that the source remains untouched, failed items can be selectively retried, a second delta pass is available, destination objects can be reconciled, and the project has a defined rollback procedure. “Zero downtime” should be replaced with a precise description of coexistence and cutover behavior.

What are the most common cloud migration mistakes?

  • Choosing software before identifying the workload.
  • Assuming platform support includes every object, permission, workflow, or metadata type.
  • Skipping a representative pilot.
  • Counting copied files without validating access, versions, links, mail, or application behavior.
  • Ignoring API quotas and throttling.
  • Failing to run a delta pass before cutover.
  • Underestimating temporary licensing, egress, storage, consulting, and coexistence costs.
  • Decommissioning the source before reconciliation and user acceptance.
  • Assuming cloud migration automatically reduces total cost.
  • Confusing migration software with cloud architecture, identity redesign, application testing, or post-migration operations.

Final verdict: which cloud migration software should you choose?

There is no universal winner among the five products. Choose CloudFuze for complex enterprise content migration, Cloudsfer for simpler or budget-conscious cloud-storage transfer, LeapLogic for supported legacy data-platform modernization, ShareGate Migrate for Microsoft 365 and SharePoint projects, and Cloudiway for tenant, mail, and collaboration migration—especially M&A and coexistence work.

If the project moves servers, virtual machines, or applications, start with AWS Transform MGN, Azure Migrate, or Google Cloud’s Migration Center and VM-migration products. The decisive buying test is not the number of platforms listed on a product page; it is whether a pilot preserves the objects, permissions, identities, dependencies, and operational behavior your organization actually needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is cloud migration software the same as server migration software?

No. Cloud migration software may refer to file, SaaS, collaboration, tenant, database, legacy-code, VM, or server migration. CloudFuze, Cloudsfer, ShareGate, and Cloudiway primarily address content or tenant workloads, while AWS Transform MGN, Azure Migrate, and Google Cloud migration tools are more relevant to infrastructure and VM migration.

How much does cloud migration software cost?

Pricing depends on the workload and licensing model. On August 16, 2026, ShareGate’s official page showed plans starting at $5,995, Cloudiway showed bundles from approximately €450, Cloudsfer showed volume-based tiers from $100 per month on its newer page, and CloudFuze used custom quotes. LeapLogic pricing was not verified in the supplied research.

Which tool is best for Microsoft 365 tenant migration?

ShareGate Migrate and Cloudiway are the strongest choices in this shortlist for Microsoft 365 tenant migration. Compare the exact coverage for mail, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, groups, identities, devices, domains, delta passes, coexistence, and national-cloud or tenant-size restrictions.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Can one migration tool move files, mail, VMs, and legacy applications?

No single product should be assumed to handle every workload equally well. File and SaaS-content tools, Microsoft 365 tenant tools, legacy-modernization platforms, and hyperscaler infrastructure tools solve different technical problems and may need to be combined.

How can a migration be validated before cutover?

Run a representative pilot, compare object counts, test permissions and identity mapping, verify versions, timestamps, links, mail, calendars, and application behavior, perform a delta pass, review error and retry reports, and keep the source available until reconciliation and user acceptance are complete.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Choose by workload, not by the phrase “cloud migration.” CloudFuze, Cloudsfer, ShareGate Migrate, Cloudiway, and LeapLogic cover different content, tenant, collaboration, and modernization needs. For server and VM migration, evaluate AWS Transform MGN, Azure Migrate, or Google Cloud’s native migration services instead.
