A Tomball family said their 5-year-old daughter reported inappropriate touching by another student at Grand Oaks Elementary. In a voicemail left while arranging a Title IX meeting, principal Heather Myers was heard telling colleagues, “When parents are crazy, my sympathetic voice kind of goes away.” Tomball ISD said Myers was placed on administrative leave and that investigations were continuing. The student-safety allegation and any final findings have not been established in the reporting available through October 3, 2026.
What the family reported
Molly and Pablo Rucker told FOX 26 Houston that their daughter said another student had touched her inappropriately in her classroom. The parents said they brought the concern to the school on Friday, September 25, 2026. This is the family’s account; the reviewed reporting does not independently establish what happened.
FOX 26 reported that the parents later withdrew their daughter from the school and were arranging counseling. Molly Rucker told the station, “It’s really hard to have trust in the system and the teachers.” Those are the family’s reported actions and reaction.
What the voicemail reportedly captured
According to FOX 26’s September 29 report, Principal Heather Myers left a voicemail to arrange a Title IX meeting. The recording continued after the message and captured her speaking with colleagues. FOX 26 transcribed the remark as: “When parents are crazy, my sympathetic voice kind of goes away.”

The remark was reported as a comment to colleagues after Myers left the message. It does not establish what happened in the classroom or resolve the family’s allegation.
What Tomball ISD said
In a letter dated September 28, Tomball ISD said the campus launched an investigation and reported its findings that same day. The district declined to release specific details about student incidents, citing confidentiality. The letter said Myers was on administrative leave while the district continued investigating, and characterized her remarks as unprofessional. It stated: “These comments do not reflect the professional standards we expect of our staff.”

The district’s description of its process and personnel response is the district’s account, not an independent verification of the underlying investigation. FOX 26 also reported that representatives of the People’s Choice Association accompanied the family to a Title IX meeting and questioned whether campus administrators should investigate serious student-safety concerns. That is the organization’s position, not a determination about district policy or legal compliance.
What remains unknown
The reporting available through October 3, 2026, does not include final findings about the student-safety allegation, Myers’s conduct, or a disciplinary outcome beyond administrative leave. Tomball ISD said its investigation was continuing and withheld student-specific information. The reviewed coverage therefore does not establish that a crime occurred, that Title IX was violated, or whether the district ultimately resolved the allegation appropriately.
