TikTok reported removing 24,954,128 videos in Pakistan from January through March 2025. These are video removals attributed to Community Guidelines violations—not a count of users or accounts banned. The figures come from TikTok’s Q1 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, as quoted in coverage published July 23, 2025.
What TikTok’s Pakistan figure counts
The 24,954,128 figure is the number of videos TikTok says it removed in Pakistan during the first quarter of 2025. TikTok attributed the removals to Community Guidelines violations. It does not mean that nearly 25 million accounts or people were banned, and it does not reveal how many distinct creators were affected. PhoneWorld and the Associated Press of Pakistan reported the figure; Arab News quoted TikTok’s press release: “In Q1 2025, TikTok removed a total of 24,954,128 videos in Pakistan.”
The measure is platform-reported, not an independently audited count. The available reporting does not establish whether individual removals were correct, how many users appealed in Pakistan, or whether any removal was caused by a government request or political motivation.

How quickly videos were removed
TikTok reported that 99.4% of flagged videos in Pakistan were removed proactively, and that 95.8% of the videos were removed within 24 hours. These are separate timing measures: the first concerns proactive removal among flagged videos; the second concerns the time to removal. Neither figure means that the same percentage of all videos uploaded in Pakistan was removed. PhoneWorld’s report attributes both figures to TikTok’s Q1 2025 report.

Pakistan figures compared with global removals
For the same quarter, TikTok reported 211 million videos removed worldwide, approximately 0.9% of all uploaded global content. It also attributed 184,378,987 global removals to automated detection and said 7,525,184 videos were reinstated after further review. These are global totals, not Pakistan-specific figures. PhoneWorld reported the figures from TikTok’s report.
The 0.9% global figure and Pakistan’s 99.4% proactive-removal figure are not comparable rates: 0.9% is measured against all content uploaded globally, while 99.4% describes the handling of flagged videos in Pakistan.

What the global category shares do—and do not—show
TikTok reported the following shares for global removed videos: 30.1% involved sensitive or mature themes, 11.5% safety and civility, 15.6% privacy and security, 45.5% misinformation, and 13.8% edited or AI-generated media. These are global—not Pakistan-specific—shares. The reporting does not establish that categories are mutually exclusive, so they should not be added together or treated as a complete breakdown of every removed video. PhoneWorld reported these category figures.

- How many Pakistan-based users appealed or what happened in those appeals.

The Q1 figures describe TikTok’s reported enforcement activity for January through March 2025. They do not, by themselves, explain the circumstances behind particular decisions or demonstrate a trend against another quarter.
