Thermal Grizzly and Noctua introduced the WireView Pro II Noctua Edition on 27 September 2026. It monitors power flowing through a graphics card’s 12V-2×6 connection, with readings for each 12-volt conductor as well as total power, voltage and temperature. The Noctua version keeps those monitoring and alert features while adding a larger heatsink and a semi-passive fan designed to reduce cooling noise.

Whether it is right for a particular PC comes down to two questions: whether per-conductor monitoring is useful for that GPU, and whether the device’s orientation and dimensions fit the card and case. Noctua’s published thermal and noise figures are manufacturer test results, not independent measurements or guarantees for every build.

What the WireView Pro II Noctua Edition does

The device sits between a graphics card and its 12V-2×6 power cable, also functioning as a 90-degree adapter. It measures current on each individual 12-volt wire alongside aggregate power, voltage and temperature. This can help users see whether power is distributed evenly across the conductors rather than relying only on a total-power reading.

An integrated TFT-IPS display shows readings. Users can set thresholds for visual and audible warnings, and configure automatic shutdown through the included splitter cable. Internal memory supports retrospective review. Thermal Grizzly says essential operation does not require optional PC software. The product is intended for modern graphics cards with a 12V-2×6 connector; that does not establish fit or compatibility with every such card.

What the Noctua Edition changes

The Noctua Edition retains the WireView Pro II’s monitoring functions and adds a customized, enlarged CNC-machined aluminum housing, heatsink and grille, plus a Noctua NF-A4x10 PWM fan. The cooling is semi-passive: the heatsink handles lower thermal loads without the fan running, and the fan starts when heat and power conditions call for additional cooling.

The practical distinction from the standard WireView Pro II is therefore its cooling behavior and reported noise, not a different set of monitoring functions. Noctua’s 2026 case study compared both versions in a test with case fans disabled and internal case temperature above 40°C:

GPU load Noctua Edition fan start Standard version fan start
200 W Did not start during the reported test After 5 minutes 40 seconds
300 W Did not start during the reported test After 2 minutes 15 seconds
400 W After 4 minutes 25 seconds After 1 minute 40 seconds
480 W After 2 minutes 50 seconds After 1 minute 25 seconds

In that test, Noctua reported an average GPU connector temperature about 3°C lower with the Noctua Edition across the tested loads. These are results from Noctua’s specified test setup; they should not be read as a prediction for a different case, airflow arrangement, GPU or ambient temperature. The 300 W result means the fan remained off during the reported test, not that it will always stay off at that load.

How quiet is the Noctua Edition?

Noctua measured the Noctua Edition at about 21.5 dB(A) from 10 cm while its fan ran slightly below 2,000 rpm. In the same published comparison, the standard version measured 39.4 dB(A) from 10 cm at about 5,000 rpm. Noctua also gave conversions to 1 m of 1.5 dB(A) and 19.4 dB(A), respectively. The short-distance readings and conversions are Noctua’s figures for its test, not universal noise guarantees; actual audibility depends on the system and measurement conditions.

The useful takeaway is that the Noctua version is designed to keep its fan off for more of the tested operating period and run it more quietly when needed. No independent validation of these thermal or acoustic results was established.

Check GPU compatibility and physical fit before buying

Thermal Grizzly offers Normal (N) and Reversed (R) variants. Its orientation guidance assumes a horizontally installed graphics card with the power cable routed downward; connector orientation and the cable’s intended path determine which version is appropriate. The display can be rotated in settings, but that does not change connector orientation or solve a clearance problem.

  1. Check the official compatibility list for your exact graphics card model: Thermal Grizzly WireView Pro II Noctua Edition product page.
  2. Use the product’s technical drawing to compare the device dimensions with the card, case side panel and nearby CPU cooler.
  3. Trace the cable route in your actual build and select Normal or Reversed based on the GPU connector orientation and intended direction of the cable.
  4. Confirm clearance before installation; the 90-degree adapter format and rotatable display do not guarantee that the assembly will fit a particular case.

Thermal Grizzly says a two-year extended warranty covers damage to a GPU’s 12VHPWR or 12V-2×6 connector when the applicable warranty conditions are met. Review the full terms on the product page rather than treating this as unconditional coverage.

Price and availability

The joint announcement dated 27 September 2026 listed suggested retail prices of EUR 189.90 and USD 219.90, with availability through Thermal Grizzly and its sales partners from launch. Thermal Grizzly’s shop page showed $222.18 when accessed on 3 October 2026. Shop prices and stock can change, so check the current listing before purchase.

Who should consider it?

  • It may suit builders who want per-conductor power monitoring and configurable warnings or shutdown behavior, and whose GPU and case pass the model-specific fit check.
  • The Noctua version is most relevant if fan noise in a quiet system is a concern and the published semi-passive cooling approach is appealing.
  • It may be unnecessary if you do not need this type of connector monitoring, or if the device’s dimensions or cable routing do not work with your build.
