There is no evidence here that proves either Theradome PRO LH80 or iRESTORE Professional works better than the other. The practical differences are their light-source design, treatment schedule, exact model, and the limits of their separate clinical evidence. Compare those details—and confirm the device’s labeled use fits your situation—rather than treating diode count or FDA clearance as a head-to-head verdict.
Which models are being compared?
This comparison is between the Theradome PRO LH80 and iRESTORE Professional. They are not the only models in their product lines: Theradome also sells the EVO LH40, while iRESTORE has an Elite model. Specifications and claims for one model should not automatically be applied to another.
The manufacturers describe PRO LH80 as an all-laser helmet and iRESTORE Professional as a mixed laser-and-LED system. That is a design distinction, not proof that one produces better results. Theradome’s PRO LH80 listing and iRESTORE Professional’s listing are the sources for the following manufacturer-stated specifications.

How do their routines and evidence differ?
Theradome PRO LH80
Theradome’s report describes a 26-week study in which 49 men were randomized: 27 to the device and 22 to sham treatment. Participants used it for 20 minutes twice weekly. The report gives mean total hair-count changes of +10.4 in the device group and −14.0 in the sham group. It also reports terminal-hair changes of +4.8 versus −9.7 and vellus-hair changes of +5.6 versus −4.3.
Those are the report’s results, not an independent replication. The report says the study was conducted by a third-party research organization, funded by Theradome to support FDA clearance, and “has not been published in a peer-reviewed medical journal.” The study’s findings should be read with those qualifications. Read the Theradome clinical trial report.

iRESTORE Professional
iRESTORE’s product page claims 43.2% average hair growth for users versus 5.7% for placebo after 16 weeks. The page’s figure is a brand-stated study claim; the available information does not establish that its methods, population, or outcome measure match Theradome’s report. It cannot be compared with the Theradome numbers as though both helmets were tested in one trial. See iRESTORE Professional’s product information.

What does FDA clearance tell you?
Both manufacturers describe their devices as FDA-cleared. Clearance applies to a specific device and labeled indication; it is not the same as FDA approval, a guarantee of results, or evidence that a device treats every cause of hair loss.

- Whether you're a man or a woman, you can grow thicker, fuller, and healthier hair fast with iRestore's clinical-strength laser hair restoration technology. You can use it on its own or combine it with other hair loss treatments; physicians believe low level laser therapy can be used to enhance the results of other hair loss treatments (such as biotin supplements, hair growth shampoo, biotin conditioner, foam, minoxidil, Propecia, finasteride, and other hair growth products)
- Developed in GMP-certified facilities, this home-use laser hair growth cap is durable, lightweight, comfortable, hands-free and easy to use. Which one should you choose?
- Consider investigating Theradome PRO LH80 if an all-laser configuration and a twice-weekly routine better suit your preferences. Confirm its labeled indication and current bundle, warranty, and return terms.
- Consider investigating iRESTORE Professional if you prefer the listed mixed laser-and-LED design and are comfortable with three sessions a week. Confirm the exact configuration, indication, warranty, and return terms.
- Do not choose based on diode count alone. The 80-laser and 282-diode claims describe different configurations, not a comparable measure of clinical effectiveness.
- Ask a clinician when diagnosis or eligibility is uncertain. A helmet’s clearance does not establish the cause of your hair loss or determine whether its labeled use applies to you.
What to verify before buying
- Confirm the exact model name: PRO LH80 is not EVO LH40, and Professional is not Elite.
- Read the device’s current labeled indication and verify that it fits your diagnosis and relevant eligibility factors.
- Check the current total price, accessories included, and whether the configuration is wired or wireless where that choice is offered.
- Review the return window, eligibility conditions, and warranty on the terms in effect at purchase.
- Make sure the prescribed routine is realistic for you: the listed schedules differ in both session length and weekly frequency.
