Loot Merge groups nearby loot into one window, reducing the need to open multiple loot windows in succession. To turn it on, go to Settings → Gameplay → Enable Loot Merge and switch the setting on. You can reach Settings from the pause menu or the main menu.
What Loot Merge does
In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, Loot Merge is a gameplay setting—not an item or a separate utility. CD PROJEKT RED describes it as grouping nearby loot into a single window so you do not have to browse through multiple loot windows. The publisher’s feature notes place the option under Settings → Gameplay (CD PROJEKT RED’s Remastered feature notes, September 28, 2026).
A how-to updated September 30, 2026, says the setting combines nearby enemy drops into one lootable body and takes effect immediately after you enable it (AllThingsHow’s Loot Merge guide). This is not evidence of universal auto-loot: the feature groups loot windows, and the guide does not say that items are collected without interacting with loot.
How to enable Loot Merge
- Open the pause menu while playing, or open the main menu.
- Select Settings, then open Gameplay.
- Find Enable Loot Merge and switch it on.
The setting is available from either menu, according to the September 30 guide. That guide says it applies immediately, so you do not need to restart the game.

What loot does it merge?
The official feature notes confirm grouping nearby loot, but do not specify the exact proximity radius or the precise rules the game uses to decide what counts as nearby. The September 30 guide describes the feature as applying to enemy drops and says environmental containers—such as chests, barrels, and sacks—remain separate and must be opened individually. That container detail comes from the guide, not the publisher’s feature notes.
Should you turn it on?
- Enable it if you want to reduce repeated looting of nearby enemy drops.
- Leave it off if you prefer to loot nearby bodies separately.
These are practical choices, not a developer recommendation. Loot Merge changes how nearby loot is presented; it does not establish that every loot source is collected automatically.

Which release includes Loot Merge?
The Remastered release became available on September 29, 2026, for PC storefronts, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. CD PROJEKT RED says it includes the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions for owners on GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2; eligible previous owners can upgrade free within the same platform ecosystem (CD PROJEKT RED’s release announcement).

As of October 3, 2026, the publisher had also issued PC hotfix 5.00c, dated October 1. Its notice covers the Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, and Xbox Play Anywhere PC versions. It lists fixes involving save and load paths with special characters, audio levels, visual adjustments, HairWorks performance and visuals, telemetry persistence, GOG achievements, and launching the Classic 1.32 version (CD PROJEKT RED’s PC hotfix 5.00c notice). This PC notice does not establish the same update status for every console version.
