The Verge’s 2025 holiday gift guide is a broad, mixed list of tech and everyday gift ideas for different recipients and budgets, not a single-category buying guide. The version we could check is an indexed copy dated December 20, 2025, so the prices below are the ones that copy listed, not current prices. The indexed copy also does not show the full list, so we can confirm the examples it describes but not all 110 entries.
What we could confirm about the guide
We could not open The Verge’s live page. The details here come from an indexed copy hosted on a non-official domain, which reports the guide as updated December 20, 2025, at 8:30 PM UTC. Treat that copy as evidence of what the guide contains at that time, not as a replacement for The Verge’s canonical page.
The guide covers a range of categories. The examples visible in the indexed copy include noise-canceling headphones and earbuds, e-readers, retro-inspired Polaroid cameras, an affordable power bank, a rechargeable flashlight, a cordless tool, a video game, and a display. It also links readers to more targeted guides for specific budgets and hobbies.
The examples that are visible, and what they show
The table below lists only the items the indexed copy describes in enough detail to be useful. Where the copy gives no price or retailer, the cell says so rather than guessing.

The cordless scissors: a practical tool gift
The Worx scissors are the most concrete physical pick in the indexed copy. Their cutting range is narrow enough that a buyer should match the gift to the recipient’s material. A crafter who works in fabric or leather, or someone who cuts cardboard regularly, will get more from them than someone who only needs to snip paper.
The game: for a player who wants a hard challenge
Silksong is a difficult, action-heavy game by the guide’s own description. It suits a player who enjoys learning boss patterns and pushing through hard sections. It is a poor pick for someone who prefers relaxed play, and the indexed copy does not say which platforms are current.

The display: a home decor gift at the top of the price range
The Vestaboard Note sits at the high end of the examples. The flap display is a deliberate, physical object rather than a screen, and the indexed copy describes setup through a web interface or mobile app. Its price gap between the frameless and framed versions is $120.
How to use a list like this when you shop
- Start with the recipient’s routine, not the product category. Ask what they already do most often, such as cutting materials, gaming, reading, or photographing.
- Choose a price band before you open the guide. The indexed examples run from $16 to $1,069, so a fixed ceiling will remove most of the options quickly.
- Check whether the item is a device, a game, or a tool. Devices need compatibility checks, games depend on platform, and tools depend on the material or task.
- Look up the current price and availability on the retailer’s own page. Do not rely on the figures in the indexed copy.
- If the item you want is not in the visible examples, check the full guide for the entry, since the indexed copy does not show the complete list.

How the guide is funded
The indexed copy includes a commission disclosure that reads: “If you buy something from a link, The Verge may earn a commission.” That statement tells you the guide may earn revenue from linked purchases. It does not reveal the affiliate arrangements or commission rates involved, so it should not be read as a ranking signal.
The guide’s list is a set of editorial suggestions. The indexed copy does not show how each item was tested or chosen, so the examples here reflect the guide’s descriptions, not independent measurement.
