Removing Seqrite Endpoint Security Client depends on the product version, operating system, and management model. On a Windows 8.5 endpoint, use Control Panel or Seqrite’s documented uninstaller and provide super-admin credentials. Managed Windows, Mac, and Linux devices can usually be removed from the Seqrite console, while license and server records require separate cleanup.
Seqrite documentation uses both Seqrite Endpoint Security and Seqrite Endpoint Protection names. Older Endpoint Security documentation may describe different menus, installers, or commands from the current Endpoint Protection 8.5 documentation.
Before uninstalling, identify whether you are removing one endpoint client, a centrally managed agent, or the entire Seqrite management server. Do not delete Seqrite folders or registry entries as a first step: a deployment can include antivirus components, a Seqrite Universal Agent, and optional EDR or DLP-related agents. The current Endpoint Protection 8.5 deployment documentation says that an enabled On-Prem EDR subscription may deploy two additional security agents alongside the Universal Agent.

- Seqrite Endpoint Protection 8.5 for Windows can be removed through Control Panel → Programs → Programs and Features or through
C:Program FilesEPPEndpointProtectionAdminuninstall.exe. - The documented Windows 8.5 uninstall requires a Seqrite super-admin username and password and runs through “Removing Default Client” followed by “Perform Cleanup.”
- Remote Uninstall is available for managed Windows, Mac, and Linux endpoints, but menu names differ between older consoles and newer 8.3-style consoles.
- Removing the local client does not automatically remove the endpoint record or release its consumed license from the Site Server.
- The documented Linux command is
sh Seqrite_EndPoint_Security/uninstall, but that command is version-dependent and should not be assumed to work with every Linux release. - Uninstalling the management server or console is a separate, higher-impact operation that can affect endpoint management and requires separate preparation.
What exactly are you removing?
Seqrite Endpoint Security Client usually refers to the software installed on a computer, but a Seqrite deployment may contain more than one visible application. The endpoint may include the primary security client, antivirus components, a client or Universal Agent for management communication, optional EDR or DLP components, and a record in a cloud or on-premises management console.

The current product documentation calls the newer product Seqrite Endpoint Protection, while older documentation commonly uses Seqrite Endpoint Security, EPS, or EPP. The naming difference does not prove which uninstaller applies; use the installed product version and management console generation to choose a procedure.
| Situation | What you are removing | Best-supported starting point | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| One current Windows endpoint | Seqrite Endpoint Protection client and its local components | Control Panel or the documented 8.5 uninstall.exe |
Console records and licenses may remain |
| Older Linux endpoint | Older Seqrite Endpoint Security or Endpoint Protection Linux client | Version-specific shell uninstaller | The documented command is not universal for every release |
| Managed Windows, Mac, or Linux fleet | Endpoint clients selected in the management console | Remote Uninstall | The endpoint must receive the command, directly or when it reconnects |
| On-premises management server | Seqrite server or EPP/EPS console | Separate server/console uninstall procedure | Removing the server is not the same as removing each endpoint |
Should you use local or remote uninstall?
Use local uninstall for one accessible computer when you have the required credentials and the computer is no longer intended to be centrally managed. Use Remote Uninstall when an IT team controls multiple endpoints, wants to avoid distributing local administrator credentials, or needs a coordinated removal.
Remote removal depends on management communication. An offline endpoint cannot execute a command until the client receives it after reconnecting. Older Seqrite documentation allows administrators to select or schedule removal for offline clients, but scheduling does not mean that removal has already occurred.

What should you do before uninstalling Seqrite?
- Identify the operating system and product version. Record the Seqrite product name, client version, operating-system version, and whether management is cloud-based or on-premises.
- Determine who controls the endpoint. A computer owned by an employer, school, managed-service provider, or other organization may require the organization’s administrator or Seqrite super-admin.
- Confirm the scope. Decide whether you are removing only the endpoint client, a complete fleet, or the management server and console.
- Check for additional agents. Inventory Seqrite-related applications, services, agents, and security modules before declaring the machine clean. On-Prem EDR can add agents beyond the Universal Agent.
- Protect the device during the change. Save work, close running applications, and arrange replacement endpoint protection before removal.
- Record management details. Note the endpoint hostname, console or Site Server, current license status, and any deployment policies that could reinstall the client.
- Obtain authorized credentials. The documented Windows 8.5 procedure requires a super-admin username and password. The documented Linux procedure requests root authentication. Do not attempt to bypass those controls.
How do you uninstall Seqrite Endpoint Protection 8.5 on Windows?
On Windows, the supported Seqrite Endpoint Protection 8.5 process starts in Programs and Features and requires super-admin credentials. The official Seqrite Endpoint Protection 8.5 uninstall instructions describe the following procedure.
- Save your work and close applications.
- Press Windows + R.
- Type
controland press Enter. - Open Programs → Programs and Features.
- Find Seqrite Endpoint Protection.
- Right-click the entry and select Uninstall.
- Confirm that you want to remove the product.
- Enter the required super-admin username and password when prompted.
- Wait for both removal stages to finish: Removing Default Client and Perform Cleanup.
- Select Finish, then restart Windows.
The 8.5 documentation also identifies this alternate uninstaller path:
C:Program FilesEPPEndpointProtectionAdminuninstall.exe
The path can differ by product version, installation type, or system architecture. Use the executable only if it exists on the installation and matches the installed Seqrite product; do not create the path or substitute a guessed executable.

What if the Windows uninstall entry is missing?
If Seqrite Endpoint Protection is not listed in Programs and Features, check for the documented uninstall.exe in the installation directory. If neither supported entry is available, contact the organization’s administrator or Seqrite support with the product version, Windows version, hostname, and any displayed error.
Do not begin by deleting the Seqrite installation folder, services, drivers, scheduled tasks, or registry keys. Manual deletion can leave management callbacks, kernel components, licensing state, or additional agents behind and can make a supported repair or removal more difficult.
Why can a Dell computer fail to uninstall Seqrite?
Seqrite’s current Windows 8.5 documentation specifically identifies Dell SupportAssist and Dell Support Remediation as possible causes of an uninstall failure. On a Dell computer, follow the documented guidance by removing those Dell components, if appropriate for the organization’s support setup, and then retrying the Seqrite uninstall.
This is a documented compatibility issue, not a universal explanation for every failed removal. If the uninstall still fails, record the exact error and escalate rather than forcing removal with a generic cleaner.
How do you uninstall an older Seqrite Linux client?
The documented Linux procedure applies to older Seqrite Endpoint Security or Endpoint Protection Linux clients and uses the installation directory’s uninstaller. The official Seqrite Endpoint Protection 8.4 Linux instructions specify this command:
sh Seqrite_EndPoint_Security/uninstall
- Open a root shell or use an account with the required privileges.
- Change to the directory containing the Seqrite installation.
- Run
sh Seqrite_EndPoint_Security/uninstall. - Confirm the uninstall when prompted.
- Enter the root username and password.
- Wait for the uninstaller to finish.
- Restart the computer or validate services using the conventions of the installed Linux distribution.
- Check the management console to confirm that the endpoint no longer reports as active.
The command is version-dependent. The retrieved official material does not establish one universal modern Linux command for every Seqrite release or Linux distribution. Do not run a guessed command, remove packages manually, or delete directories without identifying the exact client version.
How do you remove Seqrite remotely from managed endpoints?
Administrators can use the Seqrite management console’s Remote Uninstall action for managed Windows, Mac, and Linux endpoints. The exact navigation depends on the console generation, as shown by the two documented interface variants.

Older console interface
- Sign in to the Seqrite Endpoint Security web console.
- Open Clients → Client Deployment → Remote Uninstall.
- Select the target endpoint or endpoints.
- Use Show offline clients if the console supports scheduling removal for currently unavailable devices.
- Select Start Uninstall Notification.
- Wait for the endpoint to receive and execute the command.
- Confirm the result in the console.
These labels and the offline-client option come from Seqrite’s older Remote Uninstall documentation.
Recommended Free Tools
Newer 8.3-style console interface
- Open the Status page.
- Select the target endpoints.
- Open Client Actions.
- Select Remote Uninstall.
- Choose Start.
- Select Submit.
- Monitor the endpoint status and notification state.
The 8.3-style Remote Uninstall documentation says that execution follows the client’s polling behavior and that an unstarted action can be stopped. Do not assume that an older console’s menu path exists in a newer console, or vice versa.
How should you remove Seqrite from a Mac?
For a managed Mac, the safest documented route in the retrieved material is the Seqrite console’s Remote Uninstall function. Seqrite’s 8.5 deployment documentation lists Mac client deployment, and the older remote-uninstall documentation includes Mac among the supported operating systems.
The available current 8.5 material does not provide a complete, verified local Mac uninstall path, such as a Finder location, package name, or shell command. Do not apply the Linux command to macOS or present an old Mac command as universal.
If local Mac removal is necessary, use the uninstaller supplied with the same Seqrite installer or obtain the version-specific procedure from Seqrite support. Provide the Seqrite version, macOS version, Intel or Apple silicon architecture, and whether the device is cloud-managed or on-premises.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsHow do you uninstall the Seqrite management server or console?
Removing the Seqrite management server or console is a separate operation from removing one endpoint client and can affect the organization’s ability to manage associated endpoints. Perform this procedure only after confirming that every endpoint has another protection and management plan.
For the documented on-premises server procedure:
- Open Start → Programs → Seqrite EPP Console → Uninstall EPP Console.
- Enter the Super Administrator Password.
- Record the displayed product key if reinstalling the console may be necessary.
- Choose whether to restart immediately or restart later.
- Complete the uninstall.
- Remove any domain login-script instruction that would reinstall Seqrite.
- Close other running programs before starting the removal.
These precautions come from Seqrite’s server and console uninstall documentation. A related older EPS server procedure may apply to another installation generation, so verify the server version before following a menu path.

Why is the endpoint still using a Seqrite license after uninstall?
Local client removal and management-system cleanup are different tasks. Seqrite’s current 8.5 instructions state that endpoint and license cleanup on the Site Server is not automatic; administrators must remove the endpoint manually to release the consumed license.
- Complete the local or remote client uninstall.
- Wait for the console to receive the endpoint’s final status, if possible.
- Open the Site Server or management console.
- Find the endpoint record by hostname, device name, or other inventory identifier.
- Remove, retire, or otherwise clean up the stale endpoint record according to the console’s available action.
- Confirm that the license count has changed.
A device disappearing from the console does not prove that every local component has been removed. Conversely, a stale console record does not prove that the client is still installed. Check both sides: the computer and the management system.
How do you verify complete removal?
Verification should cover local software, running components, management state, and replacement protection. Use the following checklist:
- Restart the endpoint after the uninstall.
- Confirm that Seqrite is no longer listed among installed applications.
- Check the expected Seqrite installation locations and confirm that no required client components remain.
- Check for remaining Seqrite services, agents, drivers, or security modules using the operating system’s normal administrative tools.
- Confirm that the endpoint no longer reports active protection or management callbacks to the Seqrite console.
- Confirm that the replacement security product or management agent is installed and active.
- Remove or retire the endpoint record in the Site Server or console.
- Confirm that the consumed license has been released.
- Review domain login scripts, RMM policies, software-distribution jobs, provisioning tasks, and golden images for Seqrite redeployment instructions.
Why does Seqrite reinstall itself after removal?
Seqrite commonly returns after removal because another deployment mechanism is still configured. The likely sources are a domain login script, RMM or software-distribution policy, Seqrite console redeployment, a provisioning task, a golden image, an in-progress migration, or another administrator.
Seqrite’s server-uninstall guidance specifically warns that assigned login-script deployment should be cleared before removing the server. For a client that repeatedly returns, inspect domain policy and software deployment systems before uninstalling again; otherwise the deployment mechanism may simply reinstall the client.
What should you do when normal removal fails?
| Symptom | Likely consideration | Supported next step |
|---|---|---|
| Super-admin password is rejected or unavailable | The uninstall is protected by administrative authentication | Contact the authorized Seqrite administrator or vendor support; do not bypass the control |
| Windows entry is missing | The installation may be damaged or registered differently | Check the documented 8.5 uninstaller path, then escalate with version and error details |
| Uninstall hangs on a Dell system | Dell SupportAssist or Dell Support Remediation may interfere | Review those components and retry the documented uninstall |
| Remote uninstall remains pending | The endpoint may be offline or waiting for its polling interval | Restore communication, use the console’s offline scheduling option if available, and monitor status |
| License remains consumed | The local client was removed but the Site Server record remains | Manually remove or retire the endpoint record |
| Seqrite returns after reboot or login | A script, RMM policy, deployment task, or migration is reinstalling it | Disable the authorized redeployment source before retrying |
| Console is gone but endpoint protection remains | Server removal and client removal are separate operations | Inventory and remove endpoint clients through their supported procedure |
Generic forced-uninstall utilities, registry cleaners, and folder deletion are poor first-line choices for centrally managed endpoint security. Such tools may remove visible files while leaving services, drivers, management state, authentication requirements, or license records behind.
When should you contact Seqrite or your IT administrator?
Contact the organization’s Seqrite administrator when the endpoint is centrally managed, the super-admin password is unavailable, or organizational policy controls the software. Contact Seqrite support when the installation is damaged, the product version is unclear, the Mac procedure cannot be verified, or the supported uninstaller fails.

Collect the following information before requesting help:
- Seqrite product name and client version.
- Operating-system name and version.
- Endpoint hostname or device identifier.
- Cloud, Site Server, or on-premises console type.
- Exact error message and the time of failure.
- Whether the computer is domain-joined.
- Whether EDR, DLP, Universal Agent, or other Seqrite modules are installed.
- Whether the endpoint is online and reporting to the console.
Can migration remove an older Seqrite client?
Migration can be preferable to a removal-first workflow when the endpoint must remain protected. Seqrite’s Endpoint Protection 8.5 deployment documentation describes automatic removal of an on-premises Seqrite client during deployment of the newer client on supported Windows and Mac systems.
Migration behavior depends on the source version and operating system. The documentation indicates that Linux and Mac migration from certain 7.6 deployments may require manual uninstall and installation steps. Verify the exact migration path before starting, and do not assume that automatic replacement applies to every old client.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I uninstall Seqrite Endpoint Security without the super-admin password?
The documented Windows Seqrite Endpoint Protection 8.5 uninstall requires a super-admin username and password. If the password is unavailable, contact the authorized organization administrator or Seqrite support rather than attempting to bypass the protection.
Does uninstalling Seqrite remove the endpoint from the console?
No. Removing the local Seqrite client does not necessarily remove the endpoint record or release its license. The Site Server or management console may require manual endpoint cleanup after the local uninstall completes.
Can I use the Linux Seqrite uninstall command on a Mac?
No. The command sh Seqrite_EndPoint_Security/uninstall is documented for an older Linux client and should not be used as a Mac uninstall procedure. Managed Macs should use Remote Uninstall, while local Mac removal requires a version-specific Seqrite procedure.
Why does Seqrite keep coming back after I uninstall it?
Seqrite may be reinstalling through a domain login script, RMM policy, software-distribution job, provisioning task, golden image, console deployment, or migration process. Check those deployment sources before repeating the uninstall.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The Bottom Line
For a current Windows 8.5 endpoint, use Programs → Programs and Features or the documented Seqrite uninstaller and provide authorized super-admin credentials. Use Remote Uninstall for managed fleets, treat Mac and older Linux procedures as version-dependent, and always perform separate console and license cleanup. Do not declare Seqrite fully removed until local components, management records, redeployment policies, and replacement protection have all been checked.
