A short opening-scene preview from Crystal Lake is online. It shows Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees, bloodied and struggling to pull a tooth embedded in her knuckle. The series is a Friday the 13th prequel, with all episodes scheduled to premiere on Peacock on October 15, 2026.
What happens in the Crystal Lake opening scene?
The preview shows Pamela covered in blood as she shakily tries to remove a tooth lodged in her knuckle. Bloody Disgusting describes it as an NSFW opening-scene sneak peek. It is a brief clip, not a full episode, and its grisly image signals that the series will not shy away from graphic horror.

Bloody Disgusting’s October 1, 2026 report describes the scene and the preview.
Is Crystal Lake a Friday the 13th prequel?
Yes. Crystal Lake is positioned as a prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise, centering on Pamela Voorhees and her son Jason’s backstory. The synopsis begins nearly a year after Jason, described as sickly, drowned in Crystal Lake. Two strangers arrive at Pam’s home to investigate her past, setting off a disturbing chain of events and a mystery about who she is.
That premise shifts the focus toward Pamela’s story and young Jason rather than presenting another installment built around the franchise’s familiar masked killer. Callum Vinson plays young Jason.
Who plays Pamela Voorhees?
Linda Cardellini plays Pamela Voorhees, including in the opening-scene preview. The reported cast also includes William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. Bloody Disgusting’s October 1, 2026 coverage identifies the series as a Friday the 13th prequel and lists cast members.
