Temple of Seasons is a fan-made patch for The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, not a standalone official Zelda release. It is designed for a matching US-version Game Boy Color ROM. The hack’s save-data behavior and multiplayer or Game Link support are not documented in the available coverage, so neither should be assumed.
What is Temple of Seasons?
Temple of Seasons is a ROM hack of the Game Boy Color game The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons. It changes the adventure rather than replacing the need for the base game: the reported setup requires a matching US-version ROM. PlayCentral reported its release on August 31, 2026, and identified version 1.072, dated September 14, 2026. PlayCentral’s coverage says the base game should come from a legally acquired copy.
The hack is described as a five-dungeon adventure with an expanded Temple of Seasons, a route from Subrosia to Mount Tetra, and new items. Its combat and exploration are designed around Link not relying on his sword. Creator Jay described the item-focused design this way: “Here more than ever, your growing arsenal is necessary for both traversal and combat, and expect a few brand-new items to add a fresh take on navigation even for Oracles veterans.” The quote was reproduced by Retro Dodo.
What platforms can I play Temple of Seasons on?
The underlying game is for Game Boy Color. Temple of Seasons is a patch that must be applied to a compatible base ROM, so playing it requires a setup that can run the resulting patched Game Boy Color ROM, such as a compatible emulator. The sources do not confirm support for specific devices or emulators.

- The land of Holodrum is slowly withering. Onox, the General of Darkness, has imprisoned the Oracle of Seasons and is draining the very life out of the land. With the seasons in tumult and the forces of evil running rampant, the world looks for a hero... and finds Link. His quest won't be easy - he'll have to master the seasons themselves if he's to turn back the evil tide.
Nintendo offers Game Boy titles through its Game Boy Nintendo Classics service for Nintendo Switch Online, but that listing does not establish that the Temple of Seasons patch works in the official service. Nintendo’s page describes the service, not compatibility with this fan-made patch: Game Boy Nintendo Classics.
PlayCentral said the hack uses a matching US-version ROM and expected English text because it is based on that version. At the time of its September 19, 2026 report, it said no official German version had been announced. That is a report about the project’s status then, not a guarantee about later releases.

How does the patch relate to the original game?
| Question | Oracle of Seasons | Temple of Seasons |
|---|---|---|
| What is it? | The official Game Boy Color game. | A fan-made patch based on the game, as described by PlayCentral. |
| What do you need? | The original game. | A matching US-version base ROM; PlayCentral says it should be made from a legally acquired copy. |
| What is established about play features? | The original game is single-player. The Oracle games also use passwords or Game Link Cable interactions, according to the series overview. | Hack-specific save migration and multiplayer or link support are not documented in the cited coverage. |
Can I use my Oracle of Seasons save?
That is not established. The coverage describes patching a base-game ROM and reports that version 1.072 fixed bugs, unwanted shortcuts, and possible progression blockers, but it does not explain whether an existing Oracle of Seasons save can be imported or used with the hack. It also does not specify save-slot behavior or a backup procedure.

Does Temple of Seasons support multiplayer or Game Link?
Hack-specific multiplayer and Game Link support are undocumented. The original Oracle of Seasons is single-player, while the original Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages can exchange story information through passwords or Game Link Cable interactions. Those features in the original games do not establish that the Temple of Seasons patch implements them.
