The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Hyrule is not an official Nintendo game announcement. A September 2026 report describes it as a fan-created hardcover book about Ocarina of Time. Nintendo’s similarly named game is The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, announced in 2024.
What is Echoes of Hyrule?
Gaming ProMax reported on September 21, 2026, that Game Press announced The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Hyrule, a fan-created hardcover book that is not affiliated with Nintendo. The report describes it as a 332-page retelling of Ocarina of Time focused on characters who usually remain in the background, with Link serving as a connecting figure rather than the central protagonist. The stories are arranged chronologically, begin before the game’s events, and extend beyond Hyrule. The report names Anna-Victòria Teixidó, who writes as Kurusonna, as the author. These details come from secondary reporting; a publisher listing was not available to confirm them independently. Gaming ProMax’s report
How is it different from Nintendo’s Echoes of Wisdom?
Echoes of Hyrule and Echoes of Wisdom are different works. Nintendo announced The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom during its June 18, 2024 Nintendo Direct and said it would launch on Nintendo Switch on September 26, 2024. In that game, Zelda uses the Tri Rod to create “echoes”—imitations of objects in the environment—to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. That official game announcement does not make Echoes of Hyrule a Nintendo product. Pokémon Blog’s June 2024 Nintendo Direct recap
