A report says Samsung may use its Exynos 2700 chip in a rumored Galaxy S27 Pro, which could disappoint buyers who prefer Snapdragon. But Samsung has not confirmed the S27 Pro, its processor, or which markets might get either chip. For now, this is a possibility to watch—not established bad news.
What the Galaxy S27 Pro rumor actually says
In an October 2, 2026 report, Android Central relayed a report from Korean publication The Elec that Samsung was moving the Exynos 2700 into mass production. Android Central said the chip might be intended for the Galaxy S27, S27 Plus, and a rumored S27 Pro. It also said the processor allocation for the S27 Ultra remained unresolved.
That is a chain of reporting about a possible product lineup, not confirmation from Samsung. The S27 Pro itself and its chipset remain unconfirmed in the sources available as of October 7, 2026.
Why Snapdragon fans may care—and what cannot be concluded
Some buyers specifically seek Snapdragon models, so the possibility of an Exynos-powered S27 Pro could affect which version they want or whether they wait before buying. But a chip name alone does not establish how a phone will perform. There are no confirmed S27 Pro specifications or independent tests here to show whether an Exynos version would be faster, slower, hotter, more efficient, or better for gaming than a Snapdragon version.

The report says current speculation points to Snapdragon for U.S. S27 models, but it does not establish a confirmed regional allocation for the S27 Pro. Buyers should not treat that speculation as a market-by-market product map.
What the Galaxy S26 tells us about Samsung’s chip choices
Samsung’s current-generation materials show that chipset variation by market is already a real consideration. Its Galaxy S26 specifications list Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and Exynos 2600, with the qualification: “Type of AP may vary by device and market.” Samsung’s 2026 first-quarter interim report likewise identifies the Galaxy S26 as a March 2026 product and lists both platforms.

Qualcomm’s February 25, 2026 announcement says Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy is set to power the Galaxy S26 Ultra globally and the S26 and S26+ in select regions. Qualcomm calls it “the world’s fastest mobile system-on-a-chip”; that is Qualcomm’s own promotional claim, not an independent comparison. The S26 precedent shows why buyers should verify the exact model and sales market, but it does not prove how Samsung will allocate chips in the S27 family.
Should you buy a Galaxy S26 or wait?
If you need a phone now, compare the official Galaxy S26 models available in your market and confirm the processor for the exact model before purchasing. Samsung’s market-variation note means a model name alone may not tell you which AP—application processor—it contains.
