ProcBoss (pboss) advertises standalone scheduled jobs using readable examples such as everyday@9:11—so a job does not have to be a process already managed by pboss. The package listing also says those jobs persist across reboots. These examples show the idea, not the complete scheduling grammar: they do not establish support for standard five-field cron expressions or every kind of recurring schedule.
What is pboss cron?
ProcBoss is a free, open-source process manager for Bun, Node.js, and Deno, according to its npm package listing. Its cron feature is described as a way to schedule jobs independently of the processes managed by ProcBoss. That distinction matters: you can use the feature for a scheduled task without first making that task a long-running, ProcBoss-managed service.
The package listing says scheduled jobs persist across reboots. That is a documented capability, not an independently verified guarantee about every operating system, installation, or failure scenario.
What do the readable schedule examples mean?
The npm listing shows two examples:

The first is presented as a daily schedule at 9:11; the second as a schedule on a specified date and time. The examples are easier to interpret at a glance than a compact numeric cron expression, but they are not a full syntax reference. The available package information does not establish all supported intervals, date formats, time zones, daylight-saving behavior, or whether standard five-field cron expressions are accepted.

Because schedule syntax and runtime behavior can depend on the current package version and operating system, check the current ProcBoss documentation for your exact setup before deploying an important task. In particular, confirm the accepted schedule forms, time-zone handling, behavior around daylight-saving changes, what happens after a missed run, and how failures and logs are handled. The package listing alone does not settle those details.
