The headline archival addition is a set of early recordings spread across the Super Deluxe collections. The official Beatles announcement describes “24 early session recordings,” comprising 20 previously unreleased takes and three previously unreleased home demos, including early versions of “Day Tripper” and “We Can Work It Out.” It also identifies “Little Girl” as a previously unheard John Lennon song outline, never before released or rumoured, according to the announcement. What to know about the archival recordings
The label’s counts are release-content figures, not independent sales or reception statistics. The official Beatles announcement calls the 24 recordings early session recordings and breaks out 20 unreleased takes and three unreleased home demos, plus the Lennon outline “Little Girl.” Because those listed subcategories do not add up to 24, it is best to retain the announcement’s wording rather than infer the status or nature of the remaining recording.
