Logitech G lists the ASTRO A50 X LIGHTSPEED in Mars Red in Canada and the UK. The color change does not alter the headset’s core appeal: its PLAYSYNC feature is designed to switch among Xbox, PS5, and PC or Mac. That makes it a strong candidate for a multi-console setup—not a universal best for every player or budget.
What changes with the Mars Red A50 X?
The red version is the ASTRO A50 X LIGHTSPEED headset and base station in a different colorway. Logitech’s regional product pages list Mars Red in Canada and the UK. The listings do not establish that every market carries this color, or that its price and availability are the same everywhere.
Logitech’s US product listing currently describes the A50 X’s battery life as up to 24 hours. That is the manufacturer’s stated figure, not an independent battery test. The same US listing displays $399.99 for the black version; that price should not be treated as the Mars Red price. Check the local listing for the color, price, and stock in your market.

Why the A50 X stands out for multi-system setups
PLAYSYNC is the A50 X’s defining feature for players who use more than one gaming system. Logitech says the headset can connect to Xbox, PS5, and PC or Mac and switch between them with a button press. Its base station is part of that system: Logitech describes HDMI 2.1 console connections and 4K at 120 Hz passthrough for Xbox and PS5. These are manufacturer-stated capabilities; confirm the connection requirements against your own devices and setup on Logitech’s product page.
#1 Best Overall
- PLAYSYNC Simultaneous Multi-System: Xbox + PS5 + Switch/Switch 2+ PC all at once. Stay connected to all your platforms and switch AUDIO & VIDEO between them with on-ear control
- PRO-G GRAPHENE Audio Drivers: Groundbreaking clarity and response for precise audio separation, location, and timing accuracy (40 mm diameter)
- Pro-grade LIGHTSPEED Wireless: Ultra high-performance, end-to-end technology for responsive and immersive gaming audio free from wires
- State-of-the-art HDMI 2.1 Passthru: Delivers Ultra HD resolution for the highest levels of console audio (24 bit) and visual fidelity (4K 120 Hz)
- Broadcast-quality Mic: Sound like a pro; 48 kHz full-bandwidth LIGHTSPEED mic uplink achieves new levels in wireless boom mic quality
That convenience matters most if you regularly move between consoles and a computer and want one headset to serve them. If you play on only one system, the switching feature may add little value; compare the local price with headsets whose feature set better matches that simpler setup.
Is it still the best gaming headset?
“Best” depends on what the buyer needs. GamesRadar’s September 16, 2026 guide names the A50 X its best multiplatform gaming headset, and its September 21, 2026 wireless-headset guide places it in the best wireless multiplatform category. Those are editorial rankings for a particular use case, not a universal verdict on audio quality, comfort, microphone performance, value, or every platform.
Rank #2
- PLAYSYNC AUDIO 3-System Switching: The A50 wireless gaming headset with mic connects to 3 platforms at once via USB-C so you can tap between Xbox, PS5, PC/Mac or Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 via on-ear control
- PRO-G GRAPHENE Audio Drivers: Groundbreaking clarity and response for precise audio separation, location and timing accuracy (40mm diameter with live edge technology)
- 24-bit LIGHTSPEED Wireless: This wireless headset with mic offers uncompressed, immersive gaming audio at lightspeed
- Broadcast-Quality Mic: Experience maximum articulation with the 48 kHz full-bandwidth boom mic that achieves new levels in voice quality
- Bluetooth Dual-Device Mixing: Connect to your mobile device and mix your Discord comms or music into your game audio
The practical case for choosing it is clearest when you own both a PS5 and Xbox, also use a PC or Mac, and will make regular use of switching and the base station’s console connections. If you do not need those capabilities, the premium may be hard to justify. The available product information and editorial rankings do not provide a complete current head-to-head comparison, so they cannot establish that the A50 X is the best choice for every player.

- Platform fit: Confirm that the systems you use are covered by the specific connection setup you intend to use.
- Color and SKU: Make sure the listing is for Mars Red and the A50 X headset-and-base-station package, rather than another color or model.
- Local price and stock: Regional listings can differ and change. Check the seller’s current price and availability before ordering.
- Value for your setup: Decide whether switching among systems and the stated HDMI passthrough features are worth the local price for how you play.
- Battery expectations: Treat Logitech’s 24-hour figure as a manufacturer claim, not a guarantee of runtime in your own use.
How the red model fits the A50 X’s launch history
The Mars Red listing is a colorway update, not evidence of a new headset generation. Logitech announced the A50 X in November 2023 with a $379.99 pre-order price and expected shipping in the first half of 2024. That launch price and schedule are historical; they do not establish today’s price or availability for Mars Red.
